Least Carroll's actually IN the ****ing box. Lone ranger isnt he? No other ****ers bother getting their arses in there.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostCarroll just stands still in the box. No movement. No desire. He's not the only one that's at fault but I don't care what anyone says his £35m price tag IS RELEVANT.
And what's the relevance of his price tag? If he was a £5m signing, would his performances and goal record be good enough then?

We're 3 points off at the halfway point. How the **** are people saying top four is 'gone' and 'too many things need to go our way' exactly?Originally posted by Mostar View PostWe dropped too many points at home.
Too many things would need to go our way and I'm not so sure we will get there, which would be great disappointment.
Sure we need to improve, but it's not ****ing gone by any stretch and all that needs to go our way is either our strikers learning to finish or new striker(s) being brought in.
Re Carroll - if he keeps being picked, the goals will come. He just needs to keep working hard and it'll happen for him. He wont ALWAYS miss chances. He was getting chances and his confidence is shot. He needs a lucky goal, maybe an easy tap in and then the confidence will come back. But he needs to keep getting game time, it wont help him to not have regular games.
He has to play vs the barcodes, he'll be up for it.Last edited by Craig_H; 27-12-11, 08:25 PM.

I agree with all off this. Way to early for throwing in the towel, we are in the hunt for 4 th have a good chance of at least 1 cup ( our first fir 5 years). The disappointment for me lies in that if we had converted our home draws to wins we would be sat in as good a position as Spurs, just on the heels of the top 2.
A lot can still happen this season. With the backing of our support and the difficulties our rivals will have with a continuing run in Europe a 3rd or 4th place finish is not out of the question.
But more importantly we should be looking at winning a trophy, winning a trophy is the sort of experience which can inspire our squad. That and a couple of additions and I really don't see what all the fuss is about.Modifying post.

Carroll has showed more than enough in his last 2 starts v Chelsea in the cup and yesterday that picked regularly he would score goals.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWe're 3 points off at the halfway point. He worked ridiculously hard and appears desperate to kick start his career with us, we should back the lad 100% all the way.The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I think Carroll would be much better if he didn't track back, and just stayed upfront like he did at Newcastle, yes he is a help defending set peices but if we counter attack then he is too slow to get up there and then we are a man short upfront, if he can stay highest up the field then i think he can get more goals.

He may have worked hard but he lacks the actual technical ability and intelligence to succeed at the highest level.

No, that is your perception actually, it is completely to do with you, in every single way.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostHonestly Matt, i cannot envisage any situation ever, where you'd praise Carroll. And that's more to do with you, than him.

Some people will form an opinion but then stick to it, regardless of what happens. This is how i think you are (or will be), with Carroll. And English footballers. And German football. Yes, and I am not one of them, I'll gladly change my opinion if presented with appropriate evidence. Again your perception, it is all about you.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSome people will form an opinion but then stick to it, regardless of what happens.
