If Bellamy, Maxi and Gerrard all played then they could interchange and drift between positions. That way Gerrard could easily drift out wide through the match and put those dangerous crosses in for the big man. They are all very intelligent with movement and it would be a nightmare for a defence to deal with. Last season we seemed to do that to very good effect.

That system would of course require a holding midfielder and the only one who can do that job at the moment is Jay Spearing. He won't have Lucas for support but I think he can handle it.

Though I think he has been a great signing so far, I don't think it would hurt Adam to sit on the bench for one game and to come on for Gerrard to keep things ticking over once Andy Carroll has bagged a couple I also think if your playing Carroll, you have to play Downing. It may well be that playing without Suarez may benefit Carroll in some ways, he may relish the prospect of leading the line on his own. C'mon Big Man, put in a shift, score a couple and try and silence the doubters.

Thommo (the supposed insider on RAWK/Twitter) claims the club have put him on a diet which he has totally ignored

Now if that is true its worrying

However Carroll lives about a mile away from me, I've seen him a few times in a local restaurant (as have my parents). Everytime I've seen him hes been eating pasta and drinking water (the same for my parents everytime they have seen him)

He also goes in another restaurant/bar locally and I know the lad who runs it and I was speaking with him just before Christmas and he was saying Carroll had been in a few times but hadnt been on the ale.

Now you see Kenny again commenting that the media have no idea how he lives his life (clearly intimating that they are just mischief making)

The Liverpool rumour mill is always rife and its interesting that it always seems to be one player who is tagetted each season with scurrilous rumours
