Conversion rates is about as good as it gets

Fletcher has 8 league goals in 14 games
Helguson has 7 league goals in 12 games

      Just as an additional

Here are some other conversion rates for Premier League strikers

      Bobby Zamora 12%
      Odemwingie 13%
      Shane Long 25%
      Scott Sinclair 9%
      Danny Graham 16%
      Grant Holt 33%
      Hernandez 29%
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

So, what does that mean, are they better strikers than Suarez?

I think we'll buy a striker as cover, mainly for when Suarez is suspended, we'll spend somewhere around £10m.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

It shows they are more clinical than Suarez

This is the thing some people find it difficult to separate talking about a players skill and his finishing ability

Suarez is one of the best attacking players in the league but his conversion rate (and Carrolls) ranks amongst the lowest in the league

For a player of his undoubted quality its an appalling ratio

For entirely different reasons, i'd like to know what the conversion percentages are for Bent and Torres.

I'd like to see our conversion rate once Gerrard has had a few games.

                I'm not a statistician...

                ...but the answer is no.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

The best interview I heard, which was either on or related to a 'More or Less' show was about the rates of death from cancer in the UK vs the rest of the world. A politician was generally stumped when it was pointed out that everyone dies of something and that small differences in survival rates might be explained by the fact that people died of something else first.

I read this, then read the rest of the discussion and, for some strange and totally unfathomable reason, I couldn't stop thinking about this.

I think part of the problem why his conversion rate is so poor is that he doesn't have a partner upfront that can take some pressure of him and as result he is forcing an issue too much.

If we can get a striker that can score and I would expect to see him trying to pass the ball more in the final third and also see his conversion rate go up.

Interesting. Ba and Berbatov's are top notch.

                        Darren Bent?

I see 2 problems with Suarez

IMO he completely lacks any composure in front of goal, he almost always tries to **** the ball as hard as he can, when often a placed finish / pass the ball into the net would be better served

I think hes too selflish - maybe thats because of the symptoms you mention above but I'm not sure

Last ones can find for Bent were dated 7th November - 28%

                              about 40%.

If we score more away from home, apart from pure bad luck and inspired goal keeping, doesn't that mean we are better on the counter than when teams sit back and we have to break them down?
