It's hard not to come up with the assessment that Kenny and co spent a whole load of very serious money, that could have been better used...and resulting in more effective on field results than what we are presently getting.

Saying that though, it could all quite easily change, and these players could start to be more productive, **** happens in football! i haven't given up hope.

Not fussed about the money really, just want us to sign good players who make a positive impact. What they cost doesnt matter at all, if they're good then they are good. If not, they arent.

A front 3 of Carroll, Downing and Kuyt doesn't exactly scream pace and guile.

Andy Carroll - Seriously what are his strengths ?? - He's **** in the air, on the ground and positionally he's woeful too. Sell him ASAP.

Downing is so far out of his depth it's not funny anymore. He simply doesn't have a strong enough personality to make at a club wth big expectations.

Spearing and Johnson were decent I thought.

We can still get 4th spot but we need to spend a considerable amount this month.

Few positives and few negatives.

Thought we played wrong in the second half.

We should have attempted more shots on the goal given the very slippery surface rather than try to cross it in the box as our crossing abilities are sub-standard to say at least.

Hendo had a very good game. Glad to see Stevie back and him Bellamy and Maxi perhaps could have had an impact on the final score if they played from the start.

Thats what happens when you buy an oaf of a striker who can play in only one style.

We've gone from the unpredictable and clever movement of a Kuyt, Suarez, Meireles and Maxi front 4 to a rigid, predictable front 4 who stick to their wings and attack in pairs with the fullbacks in an entirely predictable fashion each and every single time. When we do cross it, it hits the first man or the nearest centre back.

We were unlucky and careless in defence. City had us in their pocket though I thought. So comfortable defending us. No shame in losing to the best team in the league, but the game just highlighted our weaknesses.
