I have nothing but admiration and respect for the King, but the King like the Messiah (Rafa) is not immune to criticism and I think Kenny's signings last summer have been by in large disappointing at present.

Only Enrique from our summer signings has impressed me greatly so far. Adam and Henderson have had their moments, Downing has just been a let down and I haven't seen enough of Coates to pass comment.

I just wonder when Carroll will start getting on the score sheet? Emile Heskey would probably be more effective up front at the moment.

I think he was doing well when paired with Lucas. When paired with Spearing he has to do a little more work and that's when his lack of mobility shows up really.

But tbh, he's not exactly Gheorghe Hagi and so I'm not sure he's good enough to deserve a free role, which is what he needs.

The problem is we don't get men in the box, if we had 3 or 4 men in the box not getting a cross in would be extremely frustrating. But with only one man in there you could argue that laying the ball off is a better option...

3 mistakes cost us. Plus the fact it was never a pen..

Carroll isn't the answer, Downing isn't a 20mill player at the moment and Kuyt is so much out of form its unreal.. So out of our attacking options that started, it doesn't make for good viewing.

We didn't do all that bad, but whats the point in having possession when at the end of the day its balls in the back of the net that count.

We need a pacey striker very soon. And he needs to hit the ground running.

We need players who can play now, not in 5 years time, as bright of a prospect Henderson is.

Its not a matter of fatigue, its about how much playing time in games in quick succession that their respective injuries can cope without aggravating them.

I'm not knocking today's result, I am not even bothered about it because my thoughts are with Luis Suarez and his family today.

I just want to know how much money this club has to spend in order to just to get some Champions League football? Tottenham this summer spent £5million and they are this season's dark horse.

We're as inconsistent under Kenny, as we were under Rafa, Houllier and Evans and it's a little abit annoying to say the least. Everytime our rivals slip up, we fail to capitalise on a golden opportunity, it becomes disheartening after awhile.
Tottenham spent ****loads before though. And they didnt have the heart of their squad ripped apart, the club nearly destroyed and sent to the brink of administration.

                Easy to forget eh?

And yeah our rivals slipped up and we didnt take advantage - but it was City away, they've won EVERY SINGLE HOME GAME this season and only conceded 4 goals. Maybe a bit of perspective could be a good friend for you.

Rubbish. It's all about the fees. When you pay high fees for players you expect that little bit more. Downing appears one footed. Stick him on the left and he always goes on the outside. Stick him on the right and he always goes inside. He lacks pace and trickery to assist him and as such he can be easy to defend against.

The second half I thought we were very poor, despite having more possession and Bellamy and Gerrard on we created less than we did in the first half, Henderson who was good in the first half also disappeared.

They got a couple of goals against the run of play, and the last one shouldn't have been a penalty, that took the wind out of us. I felt that we would have had a goot last 20 mins or so at 2 down with them down to 10 men but the penalty finished us.

So either no one in our team can cross or perhaps Andy is a slow donkey without the movement or guile to get on the end of those crosses.

Hoofing the ball towards AC is not and never will be the way forward for this club.
How many of those crosses missed the 1st man?

And how many of them that went passed the 1st man were anywhere near Carroll

I don't think he deserves much stick tonight the crosses were **** his link up wasn't bad had a decent flicked effort and set up Kuyt

He needs a goal and we need to put the ball into areas he can score and until we learn how to cross its not going to happen.

tottenham have been building that side for 5 years, they've spent well over 5 million to be where they are now. the difference is they only needed a player or two. we are at the beginning of a new project, and it will take us a couple of years of spending money and selling the old guard on to get where we want to be. there is a huge difference between the two sides and what they need, because they are in very different stages of completion.
