I made my views on stoke known a few weeks ago, but there is no need to foist them at this good fellow.

I like it when fans of other teams come here without behaving like simple plebs. Good to hear other points of view without descending into petty arguments.

spot on mate. The guy has been nothin but courteous(sp) and a great sport.
And for what its worth, although stoke arnt the greatest team in the premiership, Tony Pulis has done an excellent job and deserve their place in the league. They play to their strengths and you gotta respect that. Tough team to beat (or in our case, tough team to score against)

What next, should we claim Pennant is the next Messi? Yes he's been a good sport and courteous, no qualms with that. All i'm doing is expressing my opinion about how Stoke play 'football' and it's certainly not a rare opinion, countless fans think the same. I'm sure Potterlog's heard it before and i'm sure he has views about the areas of our play that arent exactly world-beating.

I dont really get the problem. I'm not having a go at Potterlog, he's been very courteous indeed and seems like a good bloke. That doesnt mean that i find Stoke's football entertaining or attack-minded though.

I simply questioned the notion of them using ways to 'win a football match' because, based on today (which is what i was basing it on), they werent trying to win. Each to their own, they're entitled to play how they like. My personal preference is seeing teams who try to win though.

I wasnt 'foisting' them at Potterlog, i replied to kris' post - not Potterlog's.

By the way mate, sorry to be a wretched pedant but it's been bugging me - your sig should read "negritos & blanquitos." The way you've got it would be pronounced "blanseetos".

I personally find it a shame because it makes Stoke really uninteresting and not particularly fun to watch, in my humble opinion. It works for you in terms of points and as a fan, that's obviously your main priority as it should be. Obviously not being a Stoke fan, my priority isnt so much how well it works for them, but how entertaining they are to watch for me, as a 'neutral'.

And before anyone wades into me again - Potterlog asked why i thought it was a shame, so i answered him.

I've already said in this thread that Stoke are doing well and have built themselves up very well from when they first got into the top flight. No doubting that. I still find their brand of football to be horrible to watch though, that's not insulting or abusive, just an honest opinion. And one which, if most of you are being honest, you probably share.

Nowhere have i suggested they havent done well, that Potterlog hasnt been a good sport or that they dont deserve their place in the league.

No. You just have to show a bit of respect. We all know what you think about the way Stoke play football. How do we know? Because you've told us. Again, and again, and again. Enough now.

I've said to you before, as have other people, that you're a good poster on here. I agree with like 95% of what you say. But you just have this ****ing antagonistic, combative side to you that really does you no favours. This inability to just let things go. Seriously mate, it's a shame you can't just chill out a little bit

Nah, don't have that much time on my hands..! Been fun on here though, you all seem decent sorts - including Craig - I can take a bit of fousting. All the stuff about Stoke's style of play is water off a duck's back anyway - we've heard it all before and simply do not care any more. I've seen some of the most exciting games of my life watching Stoke in the past four years and we are approaching being able to say that this is the best period EVER in our history. If anyone can seriously say that under these circumstances they would stop going to support their team because they didn't like the way the manager had them playing... well, they just have a different understanding of being a football fan than I do... their choice, makes no difference to me whatsoever.

Good luck for the rest of the season and enjoy the new Wembley if you get there. We certainly did.
