Not sure how it works if done through the club, probably just stop the person aquiring tickets officially.
If done through the court via a football banning order the person usually has to turn up at a police station at certain times/days to make it impossible to be at a game (imagine this is more difficult these days with game times all over the place).

          That cant be true, surely!

Imagine that, a game gets rearranged (like our Newcastle game, from Saturday to friday)....

"Oh ****ing hell, i'd planned to go for a drink friday night, now they've rearranged the game, i've gotta go spend a couple of hours at the ****ing police station!"

People with banning orders aren't allowed within a certain radius of the ground on a match day, if they are seen by police or stewards they are arrested straight away until the game has finished and it is ensured that there will be no trouble around the ground.

Also they have to hand their passports in everytime England play away games.

Dont know how it works for PL away games though

It definately used to be true, I knew a lad who got a banning order after being arrested at old trafford (believe it or not for singing the gary neville shags his ma song) and was banned for a couple of years by a court.

He had to turn up at the local police station whenever Liverpool were playing.

Not disputing what you say, but it's the most ridiculous 'rule' i've ever heard

It's definitely not the same recently, I've been having a beer with a mate of mine who is banne from Hull City while they are playing, and he doesn't have to report to a police station.

Fair enough, this was quite a few years ago. I guess it also depends on the judge at the time and what conditions he chooses to attach.

And this Club is determined to continue its part in working with the game's ruling bodies and the other organisations active in this area.

Whatever the outcome of what is now a police investigation, all of us are deeply sorry for what happened on Friday night and our players and our Club pass on our sincere regrets to Tom Adeyemi for the upset and distress he suffered as a result of the matter at hand.

Our supporters are renowned throughout the world for their outstanding commitment, passion and fairness. We will continue to take the strongest possible action(s) against unacceptable behaviour during our matches.
