This bit should be removed - makes the whole thing sound like bull****

We realise that the final scoreline flattered us, and we were impressed by the endeavour and spirit of Oldham Atheltic throughout the contest.

You and your fans did yourselves proud from beginning to end.

The bit about it not being leaked to the media was weird. At least 1000 people have read it now

But that bit wasn't in the letter anyway.

I'm struggling to understand what is wrong with the contents of the letter.
              Oh I don't know.

Hypocrisy, thy name is UK society. It's not just hypocrisy, it's utterly vile.

My only complaint would be that it sort of implies that the abuse was racist, which we dont know for sure yet.

Completely agree with the intention of the letter though

Well yes, but if it won't be sent until the police investigation is concluded, then it would be updated as appropriate I would imagine.

Just put...'Sincerely Sorry for what happened'.

Then get as many lfc fans to sign. Don't mention the team or the club or how good we are at multi cultural inclusion, pretty much all sides are drawn from all over the world, we're not special on that score.

We are NOT a racist club, so we don't have to defend that, just apologise for what went on in this instance.

Latics have issued the following statement on the incident involving Tom Adeyemi which happened during Friday's FA Cup with Budweiser, third-round tie at Liverpool.

"The Chairman and Directors of Oldham Athletic Football Club would like to thank Liverpool Football Club and officers of the Merseyside Police for their concerns and painstaking efforts in investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident involving Tom Adeyemi.

"Excellent communication has been maintained and the Club and player have been notified of every detail during the progress of the investigation. The professional standards applied throughout have been praiseworthy.

"The Club would also like to thank the numerous fans from Liverpool and Oldham, and also those from around the country, who have sent letters of support to Tom.

"This type of incident is contained within a minority and should not deflect from a superb match that was enjoyed by both sets of Club officials and fans.

"We wish Liverpool every success in the next round of the Cup."

                            Fair play to them
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I love how they say at the end..."and go out and stuff those ****s at Utd in the cup!"

Let's see how much media attention this positive statement gets compared to all the bollocks that has been spouted.
