Very poor first half.......Stoke are a rugged team, but not a quality one.

Same old story......and this whole debate about chances has come up in the past when people are quoting numbers......just because a half effort from a shot is attempted, it doesn't constitute a 'chance' created.

Minimal players in the box......looks like we're being taxed on the amount we commit half the time. Kuyt having a very difficult time up top.

On the plus side, no defensive concerns and the midfield lads are running. Some things happening with Glen on the right side, but Enrique could produce some more on the left.

Earlier in the season we were creating alot of good chances and wasting them, the last few games we've created sod all.

Downing's cross there would have been made for Carroll

On the odd occasion that Downing's recieved a forward pass he's looked more comfortable. I'm going to bang on again that Enrique is guilty of slowing the attacking play down which allows our opponents breathing space. As good as he is at most things, there's very little end product from Enrique and therefore he really must be asked to move the ball on to an attacking player.

Knee jerk? I'd hope it was because he doesn't want to make the clubs of any potential targets up the price as they know we are looking. Also he has to be looking after morale of the current squad.
