not criticizing carroll for being unable to finish chances created by other people is one thing, but are we allowed to criticize him for not being able to stand up or run properly? how about for giving the ball away with terrible passes? or how about for not being able to hold the ball up despite his size?dave of mutilation

Oh look, you're back to posting about the game after we don't win.Originally posted by truefan999 View PostAndy Carroll is utter ****.
And with evert game that passes I fear that my prediction that the status of the greatest player to ever play for us will end up tarnished.
The buys by KD and the shocking tactics are painful to watch
Where were you after our last 3 consecutive wins? How come no posting about those games?

Absolute ****.
Why was Gerrard our deepest lying player (apart from the 3 CB's) when he's also our only goal threat? Why so many defenders, so Glen Johnson can play behind the striker? Stuart Drowning instead of Maxi (I don't really rate Maxi that much, but at least he offers some kind of final product), Kuyt as a lone striker? I'm just glad we didn't concede through some counter, because we wouldn't score if this game was played for 3 more hours. I won't go into individual performances, because by now we've all identified the garbage ones, these are all highlighted mistakes that Kenny has made.
I still have full trust in his abilities, but he's made a ton of weird/**** decisions regarding our tactics, transfer activity or even player management (at least in the Maxi case, because let's be honest, having Downing selected ahead of you is a sort of a personal insult). He doesn't need to prove to anyone what a great manager he is, but right now he needs to go over all of this with Clarke, Comolli or whoever, do some self-reflection, try to use the rest of the month on the transfer market and do some changes. We should be alright then.

Andy Carroll is a terrible player. You continually berate his 'lack of service' but he needs a pin point cross planted on his head - he can't make an average cross into a good cross by battling the centreback and forcing the issue. Most decent forwards would get a good goal return if they were constantly supplied with pin point crosses straight on their head, let alone £35 million men.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostFair enough if you criticise him when he plays badly, but he didn't play badly today. People don't actually see his performance they tend to criticise him regardless.

I suppose we should doff our cap in the direction of Stoke City; they set their stall up to defend and defend they did. Extremely well.
I think it's safe to say that Stoke will have been preparing for today's game with Carroll in mind. Can you imagine their delight when they found out Kuyt was leading our line?
Kuyt looks a different player this season; he's obviously not happy with his bit-part role in the team, which in turn is making him look off the pace. Any run made towards the box, he checked and loitered outside looking for the simple ball, only once did he really make an effort to get beyond the ball and for the majority of the first half, we ended up being reliant on Adam running from deep to have a threat in the box.

Why the hate crimes towards comolli. He does what the manager asks him to do?Originally posted by -V- View PostAgain I don't think the players should get the blame for this one. Downing maybe because he's a dumb *******. Kuyt is never a lone striker and Carroll and Bellamy should never have been dropped. Truly awful management.
Im really disappointed with Kenny, he just keeps letting me down. I think there will be pressure on him now.
As for the french Mr Bean he should probably be sacked
He did a brilliant job, getting rid of the deadwood.
And I'll argue he bought in 3 players that where on his scouting network that Kenny probably was not even aware of. Suarez, Coates, Enrique.
Comolli I believe followed the managers instructions on signing Adam, Downing, Henderson. He could have also had Young and Jones if all had gone well. So what has he done wrong?

I think the carling cup will be crucial for Kenny. We need to win it to get some confidence back.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Post
they are a fairly patient bunch, but obviously if things don't improve in the next year, kenny will rightfully be out.
i suppose they might act more quickly, but i wouldn't bet anything significant on it.
Also I think if we win the carling cup, Kenny should revert back to what he did last season and start giving chances to kids. We are anyway not going to come fourth and Europa league is assured with Carling cup win. We may as well use the time to develop the youngsters.
I really dont see any point in playing Kuyt, Carroll, Downing anymore.
We need more creativity and class up front.

It is not just his scoring woes but his all around play.
His game has so many holes and I genuinely wonder if there is one thing this he really does it well that he can build on.
That said, in fairness, it wasn't just him today but almost entire team that played so poorly.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Kenny's tactics today were poor and he deserves criticism for that but our team collectively let him down today as they have done it in the past.
We don't have enough difference makers, game changers and playmakers that can single handedly influence the outcome.
We have improved the squad depth compared to the previous season but we are in short supply when it comes to true quality footballers.
Until we go out and buy those types of players we will see this type of performances more often than not.

Its a ****ed up world, when I look at player like Larsson going for nothing and Downing 20m...........how the **** does thatmake any sense.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostDoesn't leave either looking good if that's true.
'Finding' a player must mean, that's available and had the ability to improve us. ANYONE could have done a better job this summer because any player is available when you play double what they're worth!
Are there that many players out there that £35m wouldn't buy? I know wages blah blah but it's not as big an issue as it's made out.. No more so than spunking another £20m on Downing.
it seems to me that we looked at carroll and downing and based our decison on 1 season. Very, very few fans thought either were good buys but may turn out ok, more hope than judgement.
carroll didnt get service fair enough, but he just looks ****, his first touch makes Kuyt look like Pele._____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
