There was a quote in the Fiver yesterday that said Liverpool paid the equivalent of 5 Andy Carrols for Andy Carroll, or words to those effect. Flippant but closer to the mark than I want it to be.

When a bluenose mate of mine heard about it, hesaid I think they got the decimal place in the wrong place, Although he is looking more 350,000 than 3.5million never mind 35 ****ing million.

I hated reading Kenny's words on the transfer window. Fair enough, it might well just be a position we're taking so that clubs don't think they have us over a barrel (like last year). But I remember Rafa was never satisfied. If he could find a player to improve the squad he would want him. Dalglish saying he's happy with the squad when 99% of fans can see we need a striker does not fill me with confidence at all.

Suarez has played in what 8 or 9 of those 11 games.
No good moaning at Carroll because today like the previous few games he got absolutely no service whatsoever.
Those tactics were terrible, everyone could see that as soon as the team was announced.
There would be anarchy if Hodgson or even Rafa had this home record and type of performances game after game

Again I don't think the players should get the blame for this one. Downing maybe because he's a dumb *******. Kuyt is never a lone striker and Carroll and Bellamy should never have been dropped. Truly awful management.

Im really disappointed with Kenny, he just keeps letting me down. I think there will be pressure on him now.
As for the french Mr Bean he should probably be sacked

I think Kenny would step down rather than be sacked though.

What other manger could we go for though?

I know Rafa would be the obvious choice but it wouldn't happen surely.

I also think Kenny can turn this around. But we need to pull our fingers out right now in This transfer window.

In some ways, I see it only as the only logical choice.


Not that I'm suggesting the management position is under debate right now, but if it happened and Rafa wasn't working.

'Finding' a player must mean, that's available and had the ability to improve us. ANYONE could have done a better job this summer because any player is available when you play double what they're worth!

Are there that many players out there that £35m wouldn't buy? I know wages blah blah but it's not as big an issue as it's made out.. No more so than spunking another £20m on Downing.

Mate he's no good.. He's been here 1 year now, say what you like he hasn't shown a thing apart from the City game last year. A professional football that can't run with a ball or control it is unheard of.. But for £35m I'm embarrassed


Edit.. Obviously not his strengths.. But he doesn't dominate defenders like we were lead to believe either, easily bullied by someone of equal size.. No determination or aggression.

Fair enough if you criticise him when he plays badly, but he didn't play badly today. People don't actually see his performance they tend to criticise him regardless.

Kenny's tactics today were poor and he deserves criticism for that but our team collectively let him down today as they have done it in the past.

We don't have enough difference makers, game changers and playmakers that can single handedly influence the outcome.

We have improved the squad depth compared to the previous season but we are in short supply when it comes to true quality footballers.

Until we go out and buy those types of players we will see this type of performances more often than not.

Another sh1t result to the collection. No finisher as per usual, no creator in the absence of Suarez. This is simply not good enough. If it was anyone else but KD, people would be calling for the manager's head. I'm not advocating that, but 4 wins at home in the PL? - horrendous.

Today though the issue was service today he had very little today. If he has good service and doesn't score goals then it's fair enough critisising him, but for me he didn't do anything wrong today, so the critisism is unfair. You could have the best striker in the world but if he gets little or no service he won't score goals.

I agree completely, but people will focus on him because of my initial points. Its not fair maybe, but it will continue to happen.

Our main problem is a lack of people getting into the box, if he had more support in there defenders would struggle, at the moment they can double up on him because he's likely to be alone. More pace and attack minded midfielders are needed.
