Thanjk you.

I dont think they were expecting a similar return at all. Nobody at the club is daft enough to expect someone from the Dutch league to produce similar in the PL.
Dirk Kuyt should've taught us a lesson where that is concerned.
FACT is he scored bucketloads at Ajax and the club will have been expecting a similar return
It is also FACT is that his production with Nacional and Groningen was just about the same as what he is currently doing with us and there was the reason why he was scoring so much with Ajax as he was surrounded by players who also produced and helped him elevate his game.

They would expect a similar return
They wouldnt sign a guy as prolific as Suarez and then completely turn him into a provider of chances

Come on he was only a young man at those clubs
They will have seen his progression and will have expected him to continue in that vein they would have expected him to go backwards or they wouldnt have shelled out the money they did for him
As for Ajax who else did he have playing alongside him that were so great??
I dont buy the excuses for Suarez one bit
People are readily making excuses for him because of his skills
The fact that Kenny has moaned about all of our players finishing clearly shows he expects more of them ALL

None of the Ajax players in question, other than Eriksen would add anything to our squad, but at the level of the Dutch league, there was less pressure on Suarez to perform.

Thanks for that

If you think the club were expecting Suarez to average just under 30 goals per season for us, then i think you're wildly misguided.
Read what I have wrote earlier please Craig before taking things out of context
Suarez scored ****loads for Ajax
Carroll was nowhere near as prolific for Newcastle
Yet people excuse Suarez by saying "hes a number 10 and is therefore a provider" whilst Carroll is the focal point and was "bought as a goalscorer"
For me the club expected a return from Suarez in terms of goals and a return from Carroll in terms of goals
I frankly think the club would have expected more goals to come from Suarez than they would have from Carroll based on their previous records
I dont think they expected 30 goals a season from Suarez but I think they expected 15-20 and similar amount from Carroll (although towards the lower end)
