1. Suarez knows he is the main man and this will bring pressure with it. He knows that if he doesnt deliver, chances are we dont get the result. So under that kind of pressure (and yes, when you add his lack of composure), it becomes easier to miss.
2. He was brought to score goals, but also with the knowledge and understanding that he isnt an out-and-out goalscorer/finisher. He brings far more than that as a creative force. What we should have is Suarez's creativity (and ability to score, albeit not like a pure finisher) ALONGSIDE a goalscorer. That we dont have the latter, is not Suarez's fault.
3. They arent excuses. Nobody is saying that Suarez's finishing and goal return shouldnt be better. But there ARE factors that play a part and acknowledging them isnt making excuses, it's merely acknowledging the reality of things.
Vast difference between being a better player and a better finisher.
So which don't you think Suarez is better than Carroll at?
He is both the better footballer and a better finisher, his previous club and international record proves that

The stats dont suggest he's a better finisher. Much of a muchness, it seems. They've both been dreadful when it comes to finishing.

The stats do suggest Suarez is the better finisher, At 24 Suarez has 26 goals in 52 games for Uruguay, a great goalscoring record in Holland and brilliant first 6 months in the PL.
Did you honestly expect Carroll to score more for us than Suarez this season?
I expected a maximum of 15 from Carroll and 20+ from Suarez.

Thats what I expected as well
I seriously doubt either will get near those tallies
Hope I am wrong though
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I was talking about the stats which matter - eg, for Liverpool.
It's great to see Luis scoring goals for his country but it doesnt directly benefit us and in the context of how he's doing for us, it's not really important.

My opinion of the Suarez transfer is that he was brought in to partner Torres, who, even though he was out of form, was a goalscorer.
At the time of buying Suarez was the perfect player to play alongside Torres.
The reality is we haven't replaced Torres, which is why a goalscorer is a priority.
