Thank **** for that. The way he tried to pass himself off as some kind of Cinema guru with his banal film reviews was annoying too.

I wouldnt dismiss it ENTIRELY though, from the point of view that Suarez knows he is the main man and this will bring pressure with it. He knows that if he doesnt deliver, chances are we dont get the result. So under that kind of pressure (and yes, when you add his lack of composure), it becomes easier to miss.

          2. He was brought to score goals, but also with the knowledge and understanding that he isnt an out-and-out goalscorer/finisher. He brings far more than that as a creative force. What we should have is Suarez's creativity (and ability to score, albeit not like a pure finisher) ALONGSIDE a goalscorer. That we dont have the latter, is not Suarez's fault.

          3. They arent excuses. Nobody is saying that Suarez's finishing and goal return shouldnt be better. But there ARE factors that play a part and acknowledging them isnt making excuses, it's merely acknowledging the reality of things.
          Excellent post

It's clearly in no small part a systemic problem. One I think exists because we have so many prosaic attacking players.

But this season we can't score with a front 4 of Carroll, Downing, Suarez and Henderson/Adam/Bellamy/Kuyt ??

            Please explain that....
Our team looked so much better last season Lucas and Spearing usually played in midfield with those 4 roaming about up front. Why can we not go back to that? Apart from Meireles, put Gerrard in there and we'd look a much better outfit.

Also Carroll, Downing and Adam just don't look like Liverpool players to be honest. Too average and though I was willing to give them a chance there just seems to be very little from them and at this point of the season its unacceptable.

I think they had like 1 shot each from distance. Its far too little for a 90min+ game where we cant get into their penalty box easily. Other teams smash them often when they see little option and score quite a few lucky goals. We need some lucky goals. We're just not trying hard enough to make them.

A lack of effort is not the problem. A lack of flair, pace, movement and creativity is the problem.

Really hope that's true, not because I want Maxi to be injured obviously.

I have no idea whether it is or isnt

Some poeple seem to think Kayll is reliable

Maybe he injured it lifting Andy Carrolls garlic bread

It's great to see Luis scoring goals for his country but it doesnt directly benefit us and in the context of how he's doing for us, it's not really important.
Surely you base stats and opinion etc... over a longer period to get a better idea, we can't just ignore Suarez's previous record and current international stats and just accept that he isn't a good finisher for lfc.

The stats over a 6-7 year period imply he is much, much better than he has produced for us this season.
Missing a 1 on 1 or what most would consider a 'simple' chance like he has done loads of times this season has nothing to do with what team he is playing for, what colour shirt he is playing in or who played the through ball into him.
A missed chance is just that, football is about decision making and Suarez has been very very poor infront of goal this season.

As I've said earlier, I think he is a brilliant player, hopefully one that will play for us for years to come but just because he a favourite player can't excuse him for his missed chances, if anything we should expect more from him because he can be that good, not less

There are different levels of pressure associated with playing for different clubs.

Of course it has an impact.

I don't think Suarez has an issue with the pressure of playing for Liverpool. Maybe the pressure of being front page news, but then that would get to anyone. He'll score the goals in time because he's a wonderful footballer.
