When I say "moneyball" I was referrring to strictly statistical approach in determining the correct players to sign up.

No I don't think Comolli had the final say in any decision but I think he identified players for certain positions Kenny requested and then Kenny picked the players specifically based on Comolli's player selection and recommendation.

We paid way over the odds for both and now we are paying the price.

Let's not forget that in addition to the fee that we paid, which was inflated, those 2 will also end up costing us apparently 160k in wages per week which is another 33m over the next 4 years, if they stay around that long.
