Going by the stats, Henderson's passing accuracy was low, but his crossing and interceptions were high.

I don't think it tells the whole story, as I thought Henderson looked for a quick first time ball on several occassions that will have been classed as incomplete as they were intercepted - but his reading of the game justifies the above and is backed up by having the most interceptions. It also highlights his lack of bite in the challenge though; a total of zero ground duels won.

I think with a bit more self-belief, his decision making will improve and he will pick the right pass at the right time. If he hasn't got a nasty streak by now, we won't be able to develop it, so we have to accept he won't boss the centre of the park, but can certainly orchestrate it when we are attacking.

I've got high hopes for the lad.

It's a valid point and this is were stats alone, can cloud judgement. It could be argued that Henderson's interceptions were from a poor pass from Man Utd, however, when faced up with an opposition player though - going by the stats - he's not firm enough in the challenge.

I also agree with your points about Lucas; he seemed to track the ball in his early years, now he tracks the man and he has certainly learnt when to attack the ball; it used to mean that when he went to the ball, a quick first time pass from the attacker and Lucas was on his heels, now he leaves space between him and the attacker and knows when to go to the ball - like you say - with intelligence, perhaps Henderson can learn this trait.
