we are missing a creative player,I thought Adam and Henderson would be able to do the job but they are not doing it at the moment, I wonder if it is the tactics hindering us or not having the right players I honestly don't know

I think our lack of defensive quality in midfield is a problem, they look like they can nick a goal.

i'd rather we tried to score a couple, that way you can afford to let in one. spearing is covering well. you just have to accept he isn't lucas and we don't have another one in the squad. of course we'll be poorer defensively without lucas, thats why its important to score on a regular basis.

we look good all over the pitch as per usual, nice interceptions, nice passing and then the force field kicks in and we haven't got a clue how to get round it. the players, all of them, continue to make the wrong choices. they have no clue how to create a goal. why not flood the box? utd when all theirs are fit, do this and year in year out they're at the top of the scoring charts. rocket science?

Caroll hasn't been the problem so far - lack of support has.

I don't think his limited style has helped, it makes us predictable. Our lack of quality in the midfield means we lack any sort of follow up or invention.

His first touch pass (always passes straight backwards) has been very bad on more than few occasions but I do agree that Bellamy should have found him twice in the box when he was wide opened.

Look like we are playing more towards Carroll's style today, need to play someone up top next to him to gain the most benefit from this though.

We're floating **** crosses over his head if that's what you mean. There have been a couple of chances for cut backs from Bellamy that haven't made it to him, and a few crosses that lacked the pace and direction to give him a chance. Glen's attempts at tight one-twos with Carroll are also doomed to failure. Shame we can't get fast head-height crosses into dangerous areas, like ever.

We need someone either up front with Carroll or playing off him. As he's created some decent chances but there's been no-one there.

I'd go 4-4-2 for the second half with Bellamy up front with Carroll and Downing on the left
