SSN headline - Liverpool and Stoke avoid being knocked out of FA cup.

Almost feel sorry we disappointed them...
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

adam in particular was quiet today. i do think he's a big asset when he's on his game though.
I don't think he deserves to start atm and when he does he should never play on the right as he offers very little if anything in that position.

His crossing is extremely poor and his zonal marking defensively is not good at all.

And calling Downing a tosser is unnecessary.

            Anyhoo.

A potential banana-skin avoided; comfortable throughout, a (more-or-less) redundant defence and a line-up that showed that we can play at Anfield without a holding a midfielder. Was initially concerned about an Adam, Gerrard axis, but because Brighton came to play football, we were afforded space to punish them - Suarez's excellent movement helped.

Downing had a good game and I'm glad he was allowed to put his Old Trafford nightmare quickly to bed; the way Carroll celebrated with him for the assist, you could see that they are human too and feel pressure and drops in confidence.

Quite the team selection dilemma for Kenny come next Sunday.

I will have one small grumble about today.

                Actually I'll have two.

The ref was ****ing shocking. All game. And then at the end after four goals, six subs, an injury and a streaker he blows up on two minutes?

I don't like seeing Gerrard play that deep. He causes more damage when further up the pitch.

Good performance though and it puts us in a good place for next week. Suarez and Carroll have to start.

Oh, and it's great to see such camaraderie in the team - Carroll meant that header back across for Suarez's goal.

I like Henderson - I don't think he's best suited out on the right - but his place in the LG Cup final is at risk.

I also like Henderson but he was very poor today.

That is just unacceptable even if it was a "fan".

I think we'll have to play with Jay as better team than Brighton would have taken advantage of us not having a DM today.

Yup, I made the same point in the match thread - odd.

I agree, when you see the quality in his final ball, his vision and his ability to see a pass, he *needs* to be higher up the pitch.
