Aye, noticed that, team spirit is huge, and looks like we have it in abundance.

Loved it when Suarez pulled that ball out of the air, made as if to volley...then deftly pulled it to his left, wrong footing the two incoming defenders and got his shot away.....which in turn led to our 2nd goal.

I just love seeing players like Suarez using their guile and cunning.

We could do with that Dunc up front with his finishing.

What's most gratifying these days is that we seem to have a really good team spirit which is something lacking majorly in the Arsenal and Chelsea camps. No **** stirrers,no prima donnas,no egos and no one bleating to the press about wanting a move or stalling on their contract cos they're pissed off about this or that. One of the few positives to come out of the Luis/Evra spat and wonderful to see.Happy days.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Yep, that team spirit and unity could make a difference for the run-in.

After one of the goals (think Carroll's) Gerrard went out of his way to put his arm around Suarez. It was good to see.

I watched the first half - then had to take m'boy out.

Just watched the highlights and by far and away the best thing about the win for me was a simple thing, something that reminded me of the great Liverpool teams of the past and something that I hope KK has reintroduced and is instilling in the team.

And that is...? The simple fact that after anyone scored, there was no dickhead, cheap and nasty showboating, just, first and foremost, a thanks to teammates for the pass, cross etc.

The team looked to themselves for acknowledgement of the work, and success, rather than trying to milk the crowd or the cameras for glory.

It's the way that we used to be - and we used to be the unquestionable best - so if it is part of his ethic (and I suspect it is...) I have high hopes once again.

Kenny Dalglish refuses to get all 'sentimental' again after Luis Suárez's penalty miss in Liverpool v Brighton rout

Kenny Dalglish admitted he allowed his heart to rule his head in his determination to get Luis Suárez on the scoresheet at Anfield.

Suárez had the last word in Liverpool’s emphatic 6-1 win over Brighton to secure a quarter-final spot in the FA Cup.

That followed an earlier penalty miss when his manager ordered his players to step aside for the Uruguayan. His tame spot kick was saved by Peter Brezovan, but Suárez headed home the sixth six minutes from the end.

“That was my fault. I just let sentiment get in the way - but I’ve learned my lesson now,” Dalglish said.

“It was a bad decision. There were three of them who wanted to take it as well, Dirk Kuyt, Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll, and maybe if it hadn’t been 5-1 at the time one of them would have done, but I wanted to give him a leg up with his confidence. In the end though, he didn’t need my help.”

If Dalglish wanted his under fire striker to redeem himself in front of the Kop, the process was already underway. Suárez was outstanding in a game where he started with Carroll and Steven Gerrard for the first time.

“The three of them are fantastic footballers. The more of our iconic players we get out there on the pitch then the better chance we have of having success out on the pitch,” Dalglish said.

“But then the fact they’ve not started together before shows how successful the rest of the players have been. As we’ve seen there will always be individuals who are more attracted to the headlines than others, but we will get nowhere unless we act as a team and stick together as a team.”

While Dalglish looks ahead to next week’s Carling Cup final and possible end of Liverpool’s six-year trophy drought, Brighton manager Gus Poyet saw the result as the ultimate reality check.

“Two or three of the goals in the second half, I would say they were comic,” Puyot said. “You need to stand up and make a few difficult decisions but I think we scored three own goals but they were quite naïve so welcome to the world of the Premiership.

“When I talked to people during the week and people think we’re ready for the Premeirship, I said we are not. I’ve said to them to learn if you want to get to the Premiership one day as a team or as an individual you need to learn.

“Quality, strength, technique, especially in the top six, is amazing and you don’t want to lose 6-1 or 7-1. I know what happened, I know what I need to do and to improve.”
