if we're going to replace a striker it should be Suarez.

He along with everyone bar Downing has been poor. however he's the one player that can add unpredictability and create havoc. Carroll on the other hand needs everything on a plate.

Downing is constantly trying to do 1-2 touch pass with Enrique and Enrique is "refusing" to do that.

He really holds onto the ball too long.

Downing head and shoulders our best player in that half. There was an interesting reaction from Downing to Enrique demanding the ball off him out on the left towards the end of the half, he looked a bit pissed off like he wanted to run with it but Enrique took it away from him.

Its odd, they just don't seem to have developed much of an understanding down that side this season, they don't look fluid together. Usually I'd blame Downing for that, but you can't in this game, he's done everything we could ask of him so far; taken on his fullback, done him several times and delivered good balls. Enrique I like as a player, but he's been very inconsistent the last 8 weeks or so.

Henderson has looked all at sea. Almost scared to drive on, always looking sideways and uncomfortable.

I don't like Adam & Gerrard in a 2. Adam's been poor, and Carroll's been Carroll. Suarez has also looked a bit sluggish.

Having said that, we really should still win this game. If they keep standing off us we really should be able to score.

Overall I noticed that Gerrard plays very deep when paired with Adam. Today the first time he got near the goal towards the end of the half they panicked.

We'll not have any space in which to work in the final third though and will be reliant on a) a mazy Suarez run, b) a long ranger from Gerrard or Adam or c) a corner/pelanty

I higher tempo and better movement will make it more difficult for them to defend and more likely for the to make a mistake.
