Well tough.

I'm worried, I'm really worried that we'll start with Gerrard and Adam in midfield in a 442 again. There is not enough cover defensively!!! There's gaps everywhere in midfield. Please please please never again.

Thought Carroll, Reina and Skrtel all had the winning attitude yesterday. the rest were meh. Downing was okay...ish. Suarez was trying to be too cute.

Gerrard said post match that we make it difficult for ourselves. Well, if you keep blasting your shots over then, yeah, obviously we're not going to score. Try and keep them down and controlled, son. Could even get a defelction and go in.

The thinking must have been, that because they offered little attacking threat we could go with Adam and Gerrard. Otherwise I guess Spearing would have played.

If Lucas would have been on the pitch it would be a very different story.

But finals are one off games, and it doesnt matter how there won. You just need to win it. Which we did.

Finals are one-off games and thats why you want to put your best team out there and, honestly from what I've seen, we don't play well with Gerrard and Adam in midfield ever and our best performances have come with Spearing playing the holding role.

Slightly taken aback by the moaning here. I felt more relief than anything at the end - I'd rather feel intense joy but what can you do. No way am I gonna moan about that - we did it v Birmingham, West Ham, made a meal out of Alaves too. That's finals for you.

We were by far and away the better, dominant side without being at our best.

It feels like just the start to me. We need to back this up by winning the FA Cup too.

For anyone to expect Cardiff not play the game of their lives (and they did for the most part) must have a screw loose.

We won 6-1 with them as a 2 last week! V a Championship team aswell so that was obviously the thinking behind it. We wont play it in the league.

Quite the thread and I've certainly got nothing more to add that hasn't already been said. Looking at the bigger picture, Enrique, Henderson, Carroll, Adam will benefit greatly from the experience of a cup final - all of which, looked nervous in places - as well as hopefully giving them a taste for the big stage, creating a (bigger) desire to get back down there for the FA Cup.
