that's what we're saying. it costs money and a cl spot to get those players.

In fairness we had tons of money to spend and we spent it on the wrong players.

if we had spent it better we would have been now ahead of Arsenal..

I think we could have certainly but even then Kenny has made us competitive and we're playing the right way. This might lead us to adjusting our strategy in the summer in terms of buying players, maybe spend more and take a bit more risks instead of being conservative with it.

To be fair to Kelly he has bee benched most of the season and is lacking match fitness and sharpness, much like Maxi. IMO he is a better and more natural defender than Johnson, just needs a run of games. But yeh he had a stinker today

I think the optimist are overestimating the potential of this side and pessimist are underestimating the squad.

I really don't think we are one goal scorer away from challenging the title. I think the maximum potential of this side is to come third and win cups.

Despite the Carling cup win we have not invested the 100 million wisely from the perspective of this season. Even more baffling is that the signings are not really suited to Kenny's style of football. It is obvious that Kenny's preferred style is a very progressive pass and move with intelligent, nippy players exchanging positions, dragging people out of their positions, spreading the goals around.

That was my biggest concern prior to the game.

Carra's days are numbered and that was clearly evident today.

Great servant to the club over the years but it is time to thank him and to move on.

We did create 3 clear cut chances in the first half out of great passing and Henderson was at the centre of some of these chances. Come on man, don't be so negative. Yes we lack in the midfield/attacking third but it's nowhere as bad as that. We've battered most teams in terms of dominating, creating chances this season but the lack of results point to the fact that we haven't scored enough, not that we lack creativity. I'd say that we're creating an awful lot but can't ****ing score.

We created Henderson chance which he hit poorly, we had a pen and we had Suarez's chance which he created by himself.

And I think the season in general has shown it is very much as bad as that. We are a good distance from good enough.

On the game:

I thought we were fantastic. Arsenal were never really in the game. We were out numbered in midfield, but we dominated it and created countless chances, enough to win 4 games.

We hit the woodwork twice, had a pen save as well as a certain goal from the follow up. Suarez nearly scored goal of the season, Downing should have squared for a Suarez tap in, whilst Kelly missed an open goal.

Arsenal? An ambitious strike out wide from Walcott and a late blast from Ox. Oh, and the RVP show.

All we lack tbh, is a player with the movement & finishing skills of RVP. I wonder where we could have been had Torres stayed put & recovered his form.

All in all, I don't think I've ever been so frustrated watching LFC as I have this season. We are a really good side. But if you miss pens, and hit the woodwork instead of the back of the net, it'll cost you.

I don't think Downing, Carroll and Henderson were Kenny's signings (maybe the lot of them after all).
