There is something missing but we can't build if we get rid of 4-5 players every window and replacing them and who would we replace them with?RIP IRWT

They'll need a year to settle in and we'll show little patience again.
We *need* to look at the bigger picture here. We need a new manager, under new owners with new players; we can't expect them to all suddenly pull in the same direction, all whilst understanding a new set-up.

Price was never an issue but he shouldn't be our first option in midfield and he has been picked consistently.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Postbut he's proved value at 8m, yes?
Definitely worth to be a part of the squad but I'd never have him start.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I had a feeling he's make mistakes today. Enrique is as bad for mistakes though.Originally posted by Mostar View PostIn hindsight yes but I don't think you would find any manager that would have picked Coates over him.
After this game things will change as we were almost definite out of CL race and I wouldn't be surprised to see Coates start next week.We come not to play.

We played well today, the problem is we are nowhere near prolific enough in front of goal, if we had a striker who could put the ball in the net we would have won today and be in the top 4 now.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

wasn't really the 88th minute though was it? the minute arteta goes down the clock effectively stops. but agreed was later than I'd have liked but who should he have taken off? they were all doing a job. I'd have gone for luis maybe as bellamy is more effective centrally. but then he's our best player on paper. dirk was playing well. downing was giving us width. and replacing henderson would have left bellamy too deep. tough calls.Originally posted by Suarez View PostWe could all see that whilst we were dominating we weren't going to score with this lot. Their defence was all over the place yet Kenny left our quickest and arguably best attacker on the bloody bench until the 88th minute, and brings him on for Downing. Bellamy would've had a field day with this lot had they been given 30 minutes or so.
This squad of players and in particular the majority of ones Dalglish has brought in have a complete lack of bottle in front of goal and are bloody useless making the final cutting pass.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

If van Persie played for us, I think we would win the title.
Gutted at the result, thought we played some great football and were by far the better team, and that was without Lucas, Gerrard, Agger and Johnson. On that performance we're a goal poacher away from being genuine contenders.
Positives? Jay played well, as did Henderson. Kelly is quality and should free Johnson up to play a more advanced role. Suarez is coming back to form. Dirk had a good game.
Negatives? Carra has lost it. Pepe got beaten at his near post. Suarez still wants to hog it too much and throws himself to the floor far too often. Adam has very little game intelligence and only looks up when he's not moving. The goals are still six inches too narrow. Kenny's tactical substitutions are still questionable.
