I thought adam was bloody awful today. Constantly gave the ball away. I'm not a fan of his at all. Average player. Very bloody average.

this squad was never going to be competitive in just one season. we got rid of a lot of ****, unfortunately replaced that **** with some more expensive ****.

some of the buys have been atrocious and lets face it were not equipped to finish in the top four. we play players out of position, we play tactics that dont suit the players so what can we expect.

we were really unlucky today but thats been the story all season. at some point it stops being unlucky and just becomes plain rubbish. we are now at that point of just not being good enough.

top four is gone, so we need to focus on the fa cup and try and finish the season as well as possible. unless we actually win the fa cup serious questions will be asked at the end of the season.

Agreed. No player of the caliber that we need is going to see the Carling Cup and Europa League football as a draw. Without CL football, we might as well just save our money because we won't bring in any better than we've already got in the transfer market. Nevermind the fact that we need the income from CL football, especially if we're trying to finance a new stadium.

People think he is world class.....I'm no t so sure....he has unbelievable talent....that weaving run he made was brilliant but a truly world class player would have ****in buried it.....
              i agree to some extent...
suarez looks great, but the end product is very lacking. i believe that this is because of a lack of striking support. if there was a fowler, etc, running in and making himself available then a little pass to a fellow striker would totally change the angle and it could easily be squared into the goal. look at the way suarez's run side stepped the defenders, but this then allowed the keeper to cover the space and push the ball away. where was the right winger... should have been coming in and making himself available for a pass.
its a team game, and even good strikers need support. the difference between suarez and RVP is that suarez needs the support, he is a creative player, but not a clinical assasin. RVP makes his own chances, and finishes them. he is a world class striker.
we need to face facts and stop dreaming... we need to learn how to get the best from our available players, and not look to the heavens and dream about players that sadly out of our league.

Although ridiculous for anyone to be calling for his head. He has ****ed up, but then more than deserves his chance to rectify it.

Also we cant have it both ways, We dominated Arsenal today with some of Kennys **** buys playing to so he must be doing something right.

His use of subs were beyond baffling, hope there are reasons we dont know.
Agreed...I don't think Kenny's tactics are the problem (most of the time) as we dominate most matches in terms of possession. If the results matched our performances, we'd be challenging for the title. Our problem is that we're far too dependent on Suarez, who just isn't scoring. Nobody else has that extra bit of quality that it takes to win a match when things just aren't going our way, and our attacking options off the bench are Bellamy and no one, although I wouldn't mind bringing Maxi on in place of Downing, Adam, or Henderson...take your pick as I'm not impressed by any of them.

Don't spout such bollocks. Roy left on 8 January after our worst start to a season in nearly 60 years. We'd spent most of the time in the bottom half of the table, and some of it in the relegation spots. We'd endured face-rubbing, declarations about us being happy with mid-table, attempts to turn us into a long-ball team and sell our most talented defender because he liked to play it out of defence. We had a shopping list of targets that would have embarrassed Villa. We had Konchesky and Poulsen. We signed Joe Cole and turned down Van De Vaart. We alienated our best striker to the point that he left. We had a manager who berated the fans for his own shortcomings. We played **** football and were embarrassed to be Liverpool fans.

As far as I'm aware, we've spent all of this season in the top half, never flirted with relegation, and certainly accumulated more points to 8 Jan than last season. If there's a problem it's that Kenny's leadership in the second half of last season set a level that he hasn't hit since, regardless of signings. Performances have been patchy, but when we're playing well we're a match for any team. We've beaten City, United, Arsenal and Chelsea (twice) this season, and won our first trophy in 6 years. We all want to do a lot better, but to suggest that we're no better off now than under the Bodge makes you look like a clueless halfwit.

For a ****ty analogy, you get a new job because you have the knowledge, but they train you anyway to ensure you do things their way - it's *kinda* similar - they can do the fundamental things, but need a year to understand their role fully.

Now I'm not talking results, just purely performances - but of all our performances this year, you can count on one hand the bad ones. Looking objectively at how we've played, we're resolute, we have a great defensive line, we have some promise and movement in the middle and a spark up front - there is a spine forming. So we start at the back and make sure we're hard to beat, we then look at how we can get the ball from the back to the front and how we can put the ball in to the back of the net - we try different things during a transitional season.

This years experience and the important cup games the players have played in, will put us in good stead for the future. The bigger picture means we need to look forward, take the positives from our performances and see how we are growing and the opportunities we will have to aid this growth in the summer.

We are the width of the woodwork and a couple of convincing penalties away from being closer than the 27 points we are off today.
I dont think it should take this long for premiership players to settle in. I think people over analayse football and it really is a fairly simple game so I'm not convinced that new training methods and tactics will take some players this long to get their heads around. The majority of us do work that is far more complex than kicking a ball around following the managers guidelines. For the most part football and the incidents within a game will prompt natural responces. I think there are too many excuses made for players who are imo clearly playing at a club which is far too big for them. Its clear to me that Henderson, Carroll and Adam are clearly not good enough for our starting 11 if we want regular CL football.

We've had some great performances this season granted, today was another good performance but another performance lacking the killer instinct and cutting edge that comes with class and quality. Class and quality is what we're missing though, and that won't come with these players next season or the season after that imo. Its all very good knocking the ball about outside the box but putting it into the net is what its about and thats the difference between average players and quality players, and its the difference between us and Utd, Citeh and Spurs and its why, for all our possession and attack, we find ourselves rubbing shoulders with Stoke and West Brom.

It was good to see us getting numbers into the penalty area today though, we haven't been doing that enough.

I'd understand the doom and gloom if we were **** - but we're not, we're just missing ONE (albeit vital) ingredient. The points tally doesnt show it, but we've got one significant issue to resolve and the correct resolution of that makes things massively different. Try aboout 12-more-points-different.

The doom and gloom is really bizarre IMO.

Sadly I think it is bit more than just one ingredient, think we need 4 or 5 players. We need 2 wide players 2 more midfielders and another forward.

The doom and gloom is not unwarranted a third season with out CL football is not good and it is very likely, 2 wins in the last 10 is really bad especially as we had a real opportunity to push on this year but we have really wasted it.

Penalty takers. When Gerrard is out, who the **** should be taking them? Will we ever score another penalty again?
