If Rafa came back you really think he would be able to work with Gerrard and Carra again? I am not so sure. If he came back it will truly be the start of a new 5 year plan and there will be some very frustrating times and many threads like this one I reckon.
Woohoo! Another few years of transition.
That'll be 20 or more...

Carragher's a 4th choice centreback and Gerrard's not the player he was. Those two shouldn't have any power - they're incredibly well paid employees.
Henderson was woeful today. I lost count of the number of times the play broke down as a direct result of him. Adam was shocking as well. I ****ing hate the way he'll **** up and he doesn't even look pissed off that he's made a mistake. Very irritating player.
Carroll actually looked like he'd started putting a run of form together, and all of a sudden he's dropped - why? 55 million pounds we spent on him and Downing and both were on the bench. Speaks volumes really doesn't it.

Gerrard yes, Carra probably not.
Thing is with Rafa, he's definitely, beyond doubt, one of - if not the - most knowledgable about the game. Everyone says it. He's like the stern teacher, but he gets results, because if you don't learn your vocab, you'll know about it. Kenny is obviously the more 'likeable'/'approachable' manager, but I just don't think he's got what it takes to win the big stuff.
I always said Rafa should never have left. It was a shocking decision and threw us back several years.
Which is why I detest the moneyball approach. Mentality is the key. We are too weak in this aspect and need more *******s on the pitch who have the mental strength not to get intimidated playing for this club.
if you saw the movie you'd have seen that at least one player was sacked off because of his mentality. moneyball isn't to blame here. if we had been playing moneyball, we'd have bought a striker with a terrific conversion rate in addition to suarez..
Given the money Kenny has had.. Do you think we would currently be lumped with a midfield or Adam, Henderson, Downing? and Carroll up top? NOT A CHANCE!.. We seemed to have an actually scouting network.. Players bought based on ability rather than BANTER and Nationality.
EDIT: In fact we can go a step further.. We'd have had a formation that fits the side and not force what players we have in to a 442.

i'm not as sure it was a mistake letting rafa go at the time, things weren't working out, but we should have got a manager that would have continued his work instead of that clueless muppet.
I think they both deserve to be singled out as they were beyond poor. Total rubbish.
Neither of them should be playing the first team football and I would rather play Adorjan, Teixeira and/or Suso, which I hope we do, then see those 2 play for the rest of the season.
As far as I'm concerned, Adam was the clear winner in the he-played-abysmally stakes. Henderson was poor, and has been for a lot of the time this season, but I can fall back on the old "he's just a kid making his way in the game and the experience will do him good" rountine, although it's starting to wear mighty thin.
