You can be angry, no problem. But to trash talk someone like Kenny Dalglish after what he has done not just for Liverpool FC but for The City of Liverpool is just downright insulting and offensive.

In all the time I've been on this website I don't think I've ever posted about Souness. As a player he gets as much respect as any that have pulled on the shirt and more than most.

Having KENNY OUT as your sig, and saying he is a **** manager is just not how I expect people to discuss a legend of the club and the guy that made me love football. Its hardly rational debate.

We are playing poorly right now, and Kenny may well be under pressure, but I'd never resort to the name calling you do.

But are the new players that good? What improvement have we seen this year?

Last year under Dalglish, the 3 biggest attacking threats were: Maxi, Meireles and Suarez.

The problem is that only 1 of them is playing. Meireles' sale was the biggest mistake obviously! Hendo is too young to replace him. Adam is average. Downing is good vs cheap opposition (vs Sunderland he was cheap as well) and Carroll is too slow for Dalglish's system of fluid football.

How much did Arsenal spend this summer? They are 10 points above us! Chelsea sacked the AVB and they are 7 points above us! But sacking Dalglish is not the option right now! He was and still is a good manager, he needs to sort Downing and Carroll by either playing for their lives in the last 10 games or else selling them half price in summer. Rafa did it with Keane, he admitted his mistake! (even though Keane played good football when he played).

It's absurd that the season went wrong after Lucas' injury in a ****ty League Cup match. I think that all of us would prefer no trophies but 4th place. Champions League football will get you money + excellent players will come (Cavani, LLorente, Martinez, Ramirez) But if we place 6th how many of them will come?

I seriously think that the next 2 signings will be the most important in the history of LFC. The youngsters will come good but we are talking about 4 or 5 years from now!
Meireles is not the biggest loss - bar his purple patch, he contributed nothing more to suggest he'd have made a difference this year. Looking at the performances of the season so far, we are solid at the back and fluent when going forward, what we lack is potency in front of goal and a timid midfield when we are up against it.

When teams sit back against us, the lack of potency upfront shows and when we go behind or get our arse handed to us, our timid midfield turns up.

Your last paragraph is absolutely right, our next two (maybe more) signings will hopefully address those two issues. Tied in with the return of Lucas, we'll be slowly getting our spine back.

When he won the ESPN PFA Fans Player of the Year Award.

I don't think he was our player of the year last year, I'd have gone for Lucas.

Who was your player of the year?

I disagree with Lecter ( who posted in the post match thread) that we have been poor only 3 or 4 times this year. I would say starting October the good performances have been relatively few and scattered. At the very least the number of ****e performances have matched the number of good performances.

However, I believe Kenny should be given one more year.

The manager is only as good as the scouting. Our scouting has been shockingly bad barring a few exceptions. That is a key issue the owners will have to address.

If the driver of our summer spending spree was Kenny then he should take a back seat on scouting. If it was Commoli then his position should be evaluated. Our scouts cannot identify a priest on a mountain of sugar. Our scouting needs to be overhauled.

It is not just about finishing. We are mid table because we have mid table players. Just because we paid a premium for them does not make them potential world class.

Luck has played some part in where we are. With better fortune than the dire luck we've had, we'd probably be closer to 4th than 10 points. But we still wouldnt actually BE 4th.

Footballs a confidence game. Had we banged in some goals I think we'd have had some momentum and be looking much better.
