How's Luis Alberto doing? I always liked the look of him and think he could be that calming influence we need in midfield. It's not like he was given a chance by Rodgers ffs

If we're going to be going through a transitional phase and giving plenty of opportunity to others, I'd also like to see him, Illori and Markovic given more opportunity too.

I honestly wouldn't mind if it meant losing a few games while they ply their trade. The standard of competition for places right now is laughable particularly in midfield and defence.

Academy winger Sergi Canos has been called up by Spain U19s for a training camp later this month.

The 18-year-old, who is on a season-long loan at Championship outfit Brentford, will join the squad in Madrid between October 26-28.

Canos is the only representative from a team outside of Spain to get the call-up.

Another annoying loan at the behest of Rodgers.

Jordan Williams played almost every possible second for Swindon before he got injured, Lloyd Jones at Blackpool too.

Canos, Kent, Ojo, Allan, Markovic and Alberto are all doing well. Danny Ward is the first choice at Aberdeen, Vigouroux likewise at Swindon Town.

None seem to be tearing it it up, justification in sending them out on loan? or just bad luck for some of them.

I think it is always a risk with loans to the PL. Players are less likely to be a large upgrade on what is there. All to often loans result in players bulking up a squad with the manager having no incentive to worry about developing the player.

Maybe after Norwich's horror show defensively against Newcastle he'll get a chance.

Lloyd Jones (Blackpool) - not in match squad (injury?)
Vigouroux, Williams, Stewart (Swindon Town) - Vig full game, Williams not in squad, Stewart came on at 64 mins in 2-0 defeat
Harry Wilson (Crewe) - unused sub
Danny Ward, Ryan McLaughlin (Aberdeen) - Ward full game in 0-2 defeat, McLaughlin unused sub
    Wisdom (Norwich) - Unused sub
Markovic (Fenerbache) - played 63 mins in 0-1 win
Samed Yesil (Lucerne) Came on at 73 min in 1-0 defeat
Joe Maguire (Leyton Orient) - on bench
Ryan Kent (Coventry) 79 mins in 0-0 draw against Blackpool
Allan (HJK) - played 90 mins in 0-2 win
Taiwo (FSV Frankfurt) - Not in match squad
Sergi Canos (Brentford) - Started game, subbed at 70 mins in 2-1 win
    Balotelli (Milan) No game injured
Ilori (Villa) not in squad (match fitness according to Tim)
Alberto (Deportivo) played 71 mins in 2-2 home draw

Notes - Swindon Town parted with their manager after a terrible run so we'll have to see if the trio survive the change.

Allan seems to have having solid time at HSK, must see if I can fins an English language site for the club.

Wisdom seems in great danger of having his career killed by the wrong loans, its always a risk right now I'd wager he wishes he was at LFC playing the odd cup tie or in Championship where he'd actually get games.

Anyone here know what the **** has happened to the Dons?

Sergi Canos seems to be a fans favourite on the griffin park message board - some reactions to the Saturday game,

Still raw and looked like a boy amongst men when he came on against Brum but capable of creating something out of nothing. Personally I wouldn't start him as he doesn't look like he's up to longer than a half but until Jota is back maybe worth giving him a chance. Like his enthusiasm and he's got a bit about him and a trick, he's only a kid and very likeable from what I've seen.

He's bonkers. Very entertaining to watch his bull in a china shop approach to playing.

He brings a wonderful unpredictability and enthusiasm in the right circumstances. Needs to be utilised in the right games and circumstances but a raw talent and no mistake, got a bit of attitude as well which is good to see if well channelled.

Played with the impetuosity of youth, some lovely touches, some poor choices but got stuck in, probably a booming waiting to happen but great fun

He's potty for it. Reminds me in attitude of Szczesny - loves playing football, hates losing. Could be a real cult figure for us.

Cheers. I read on UEFA that Wilson played 70 minutes against Denmark. Not much in the way of reporting but he had a few shots. 0-0 final score.

Has Wilson gone to the Wales U21 this week? Can't find any news anywhere.
Can't find his name - Armenia v Wales is on Tuesday, 11th

Ryan Kent scored in England U20 2-1 win over Turkey today - played the full game, also played last 10 mins of their first game a 3-0 win over Netherlands.

Sheyi Ojo played in the U19 for England, not sure of the result as I type - they were leading last I saw.
