I can only frame it as us not wanting to spend when we might be about to be sold? What is the point of FSG spending money now if it doesn't improve the sale valuation they get? I think spending would have the opposite effect - securing a would-be superstar for c.£75-100m on a long term contract would improve our chances of winning silverware for the coming years. Especially as you'd hope the value of said player(s) coming in would also increase as they develop/improve with the team and Jurgen's coaching.Originally posted by Pablo View Post

I suspect the club is being asked to slim squad numbers by the end of the summer (to raise funds and reduce wage costs), which means doing thorough once-and-for-all assessments of (and final decisions about) players that we have talked about for a couple of years but have not yet come through. Which is probably not before time.Comment
