Yep......we'll be OK with this one.
Keep Carroll and Luis up top........will still need the captain's influence in the final third, which means Spearing will have to perform against a robust Stoke midfield, whenever we haven't got the ball.
There is an argument for Bellamy starting, but he was very subdued against the organized Sunderland, so his best bet may be coming on if the game finds itself stretched.

Judging by his recent comments I doubt he'll be fit, but it would make sense to keep Kelly in regardless seeing as he played so well against Everton and can add an extra bit of height at the back.Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Postid go one change - kyut for hendo.
i THINK we will make 3 - carroll, gerrard, kelly out for johnson, adam, bellamy. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

With Kelly at right back I feel it's no called for. Hope for the same team as the one that beat Everton.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostWonder if Kenny will stick with the 3 at the back like in the last 3 or so games vs Stoke* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

As with most games an early goal is the key, if we can score early then Stoke will have to come out and it'll be easier to play. If we don't then they will sit in, hardly attack and launch balls into the box from all angles as per usual.
I have no idea why but I just feel we're going to give them a hiding, the Suarez/Gerrard axis reminds me of him and Torres when they were always looking to play the other in with an extra pass rather than shooting in hope fro distance which is what we've done for most of the season to date.
Plus Carroll will play if for no other reason than his height defensively and generally we've played better recently with him than when he has been subThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

If Stoke decide they will play the percentage game:
(we won't need 4 defenders)
---------------------------------Reina--------------------------------
--------------Kelly--------Skrtel-------------Coates-------------------
Henderson---------------------Spearing--------------------Enrique---
---------------------------Gerrard------------------------------------
--------Suarez------------------------------Downing-----------------
----------------------------Carroll------------------------------------
If we need to shift things (same players):
---------------------------------Reina--------------------------------
Kelly----------------Skrtel-------------Coates--------------Enrique---
Henderson----------Gerrard-----------Spearing-------------Downing--
------------------Carroll---------------------Suarez-----------------
You know what, **** it. Let's start with the team above. Against the bitters was the first time I have seen us play a proper 4-4-2 in a way I liked.
For the first time I got the point of having Henderson on the right (tugged in). And I have never seen Stevie cover so much ground in defence as well.
Bring it on!!!
PS! A bit hard to ditch Carra after a good game, but Coates is a proper tower and he needs games.
