I dont think he would even be a short-term success. Since Porto, he's only ever gone to clubs that had loads of money and already had a squad of good players. Plus he's had bucketloads to spend and has been allowed to spend short-term on proven stars. If you have players like that, getting them organised goes a long way as they're always likely to score.

That's a whole different challenge to taking a squad like ours in need of a major overhaul and building a team from scratch. There's no evidence he can do that.

I thought Comolli's role was identifying players and then suggesting them to Kenny, if Kenny was happy with them Comolli would sort out a deal.

Although this sounds like a chief scout and negotiator role combined.

Just going on what the papers have said recently that last summer was a case that Kenny identified the players and Comolli did the contract work (it is in the Rafa thread, the Dion Fanning article I think).
