I think the director of football title just blurs the lines as there doesn't seem to be a strict definition of the role (that the fans are aware of).

I think that the fans will back or gives stick to whatever best suits their agenda, those who like the manager will give him credit for good signings and blame bad signings on the director of football, those who don't like the manager will do the opposite What the truth is the fans are unlikely to know...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

People suggested he was an option when Rafa's future was questioned and we ended up with Hodgson

Seriously I'd rule out Mourinho and I think the chances of Rafa returning are anorexic

He'll be available the question is if FSG wants to go back in the past or move forward with new ideas and new vision for the future.

Personally I'd give Rafa second chance.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew likened Hatem Ben Arfa to Barcelona star Lionel Messi after another fine display in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Liverpool.
The French forward had a hand in both goals against the Reds.
"With the ball at his feet, he's magic," Pardew told BBC Sport. "As magic as [Luis] Suarez or Messi at times.
"We had to work with him to understand exactly what he's about. He has got a special talent, we know he's special."

Before the game started, the pub I was in was showing our 5-1 drubbing of Newcastle a few years back. Admittedly Kinnear was their manager at the time, Pardew clearly has them more organised with better players, but the tempo of our play was miles better than it is at the moment. There was a real crispness and rhythm to our passing and the angles looked much more deliberate and er...pleasing on the eye almost. There seemed to be a point to it at least. Today we were shapeless and really lacked width at times. Why play Suarez left and Bellamy right when they're both used to playing on the opposite sides for previous teams? Made no sense to me. Once again the subs came far too late and didn't seem to get any instructions when they came on. Depressing stuff

we lacked ambition, the club was heading down the ****ter, no one really cared, mouriniho wasnt an option because things were bleak.

I really don't like how we defend either, it's very passive. I'd much rather see us play a higher line and pressure the ball higher up the pitch

Mourinho will not come to LFC

He earns €12 million or something daft, thats more than double the salary we've paid to our highest ever paid coach (Rafa)

Not going to happen in a million years and you are totally delusional to think it will

Thats definitly a function of Carragher playing imo

Agger has us holding a much higher line

Carragher just wants to drop off all the time

He was fantastic today, just the kind of creative player we badly lack. Fair play to them, they've been very good in the transfer market.
