He relied too much on Jay who can play game or two but he cannot carry us for more than 6 months.Originally posted by Lecter View PostLosing Lucas is the biggest blow and for me its the inability of any of our other midfielders to do that job
Massive mistake not buying cover, I genuinely thought we could limp through but none of them are good enough to do that job that Lucas did
Other 2 Adam and Henderson failed to impress as well and with Stevie being out so long we really had no choice but to play them all time and even in the wrong positions.
We needed to address deficiencies in January (a striker, DM or CM/box to box mid) but as Comolli said the players we were interested in were not available.
That said, it still makes me sad that we couldn't arrange a loan deal or 2 but instead decided to entrust our season on our existing squad that clearly doesn't have enough quality in some key areas on the pitch to push us in the right direction.
Really need to be smart and buy some good quality players in summer as we are falling more and more behind.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

The thing is problems are often compoundedOriginally posted by wiw View PostI agree on Skrtel, i'm not really picking on individuals it's more the team as a whole. We retreat into our own half and hold some form of shape, individuals then press, we lose shape and end up leaving gaps between defence and attack
I'd much rather see us higher up the pitch trying to win the ball rather than being so passive
Lose Lucas you become more open in midfield yet you might be able to cope with Agger & Skrtel on song
Lose Agger and then Carragher comes in and he drops off and this causes pressure to build
More pressure builds and the more likely we will start to make individual errors
For me there is no coincidence that Skrtel & Enrique have made more errors as Carragher has come back into the side
Its a long slog out of where we are now
Coates for me has to play instead of Carragher but for me there is no palatable answer in the holding midfield roleBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I was sat behind him at the City v Chelsea game and he had his ipad out using some app called globalfootball or something.Originally posted by Mostar View PostHe'll be available the question is if FSG wants to go back in the past or move forward with new ideas and new vision for the future.
Personally I'd give Rafa second chance.
He was entering formations and **** and when saving it i seen a list of countless teams tactics.... the guy is like stato or something. He is a master tactician but unfortunately most players couldnt follow his instructions.

He is apparently on Chavs short list for the summer and I just cannot see him coming to us.Originally posted by fred_plasticine View Postheard that too though that was probably just speculation.
that said, i like them both, especially the former.
In fact I have tough time imagining any good one (Pep, Bielsa, Klopp etc.) really committing to our new cause unless we are willing to invest heavily in the squad and even then I doubt it will happen as all those will be pursued by clubs as big as us but playing in CL.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I actually said this to a mate last weekOriginally posted by BootRoom View PostSo would I, but it looks as though the number 700 (and very unfortunately beyond) is much more important than actually taking the game to the opposition.
I think there is too much sentiment being shown to Carragher hes not in any way deserving of a place in the side
It wouldnt surprise me for us to let him reach 700 then he'll be back on the bench
He should be benched now imoBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
