A few things id like to add.

The comment about pace is laughable. Not one of the signings Commolli made had pace. Its the biggest failing we have at the moment is the lack of pace, look how easy it was last night for Fulham to defend against us on the half way line. Henderson, Downing, Adam, Carroll and sorry to say it Suarez all are dog slow. Clearly Luis makes up for it in other areas though.

I think, to be honest, 99% of fans I know at the match knew that Henderson, Carroll, Downing and Adam were not good enough for us. That was compunded by paying vastly over the odds for them and seeing other teams buying better players from home and abroad for less money in fees.

Last point, I know 100% that Charlie Adam earns £40k per week AFTER TAX. PM me and Ill explain how I know, as long as I dont get swamped with requests!!

with respect chief, the lads by 18 should already be technically able because the technical work is done from the age of 8 onwards. By the age of 18 you expect players to be able to control a ball and pass it correctly because of a solid 8-10 years coaching focused on technique. When players join come up from the reserve team to 1st team the coach knows that the player has the basics mastered.

I speak from experience when I say that as players move higher up the ladder through academy, through reserve to 1st team they do less and less ball work because its much more about tactics, patterns of play and shape.

Being realistic, once a player goes beyong 18 its very difficult to improve them technically because they dont have the time to re-adjust their technique as well as doing all the tactical stuff. If by 18 he cant control or pass it properly theres a very good chance that he never will.

Totally agree. For all his faults, at least Ryan Babel offered a genuine threat with his pace. Once he left we were finished in that department.

I actually think Suarez has ok pace and Downing is pretty fast (he just doesnt have the bottle to use it). Bellamy is also quite quick

We dont have any electric pace in the side though, and it has been a concern of mine for sometime even when we had Rafa here

The Comolli interviews and his sacking has really sharpened my opinion of him and whether he was sacked on the behest of Kenny or FSG actually made the decision is was definitely the right one imo

"Pace" is a bit of a catch-all, there's loads of different aspects to being quick.

I thought that too. I also thought we were one of the fittest teams at the time too.

I'd take that with a pinch of salt. Rafa & Brunkner never got on, & we were known to be one of the fittest squads in the league under Rafa.
