The director of football role has no place in our game. It always fails over here.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Totally agree. It seems to indicate that they are paving the way for either:Originally posted by marcus50bucks View PostThink it's inevitable that Kenny will go at the end of the season now.
a) Kenny to move back upsatiars with a pat on the back, and a new manager coming in.
or
b) A new manager who wants total control ala Rafa in his last few years.
But I think its all in place for the end of the season now.

I wonder if he Kenny actually did now, clearly DomCom has been blamed for the transfers made in the summer.Originally posted by Rich View PostIf he has been sacked then why has he been sacked?
Surely this now puts more pressure on Dalglish. Dalglish has final say on the players the club bought.
Why, oh why, didn't this come on in the summer?!

No-one gets sacked anymore, they just get mutually consented.
He is allowed to feel he has left with his head held high for family reasons, whilst the real reason is apparent to everyone and leaked to the press.
No doubt Comolli has just put forward his proposals for signings for next season, and they have not been accepted.Modifying post.

Could possibly mean Kenny will step aside in the summer as they already have another man in mind for the job? They'd never sack Kenny, but Comolli's fair game IMO.
Maybe it makes more sense that they'd get rid of Comolli first as he was less likely to step aside in the summer.

I have to say, Im not that disappointed with this news. Not nice to say when someone's lost their job but Im almost pleased. There was something about Comolli that I didnt like. His record at Arsenal and Spurs was more mixed than he claims, and there were always whispers that the view at those clubs (especially Arsenal) was that he claimed credit for things that had little to do with him. Our record didnt exactly contradict that (poor recent signings and credit being claimed immediately for Suarez when we had certainly scouted/been linked heavily to him before Comolli ever arrived).
The appointment always struck me as one based on the recommendation of baseball Moneyball people who he had hung out with/sucked up to. This looks to me like FSG (or their people in the UK) have taken their time to get to get a feel for football, recognise the need for some differences of strategy/approach, and acted ruthlessly to do so.
If they are willing to re-think strategy and be ruthless, that gives me some hope for the future.

Same here, or maybe he'll get sacked once the season is over aswell. But its interesting if he stays and suggests he had less say than we thought.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostI wonder if he Kenny actually did now, clearly DomCom has been blamed for the transfers made in the summer.

Comolli leaves #lfc. Reflects Dalglish power. I never thought that relationship would work. But test of Dalglish to get signings right now
Rory Smith@RorySmithTimes
Can read the Comolli news two ways: either Dalglish wins power games or FSG - as promised - are prepared to act swiftly on anyone. #LFCBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

or we are about to rip our scouting network apart and implement either something entirely new or somebody elses ideasOriginally posted by npinn001 View PostTotally agree. It seems to indicate that they are paving the way for either:

But I think its all in place for the end of the season now.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
