Just listened to this just nowOriginally posted by el matador View Postthe latest version of the anfield wrap more or less says that kenny and commoli were too pally pally and were watching each others backs when it came to justifying results.
The americans got rid of comolli, ayres gonna be moved out of the football side of things. kennys next.
I have a lot of respect for these guys.
Really Really simple. Brutally efficient. Divide and conquer.
This part of the podcast was just an expression of opinion rather than any specific information they'd receivedBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I must admit I fear for Kenny's future. If Comolli was binned for the reasons stated the Kenny is surely at least equally culpable? I think we are in for an interesting Summer, with all activities transfer wise most likely delayed until after the Euros.
I haven't heard anything that makes me believe that anyone outside the inner circle at FSG is ITK at all. One thing is for sure they are demanding success, and appear hell bent on achieving it, which is surely a good thing for the future of the club?Last edited by Buzzo; 20-04-12, 02:20 PM.Modifying post.

FSG clearly are not pleased with the huge amount of money wasted on mediocrity and so Comolli was shipped out. What that means for Dalglish's future I don't know because by all accounts he is as responsible as DC for the signings made. Will FSG trust him with more money ?? Our squad isn't good enough to get 4th place so this summer we have to spend big to move forward.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI must admit I fear for Kenny's future. Supposedly big money is not available and even if it is, I wouldn't trust him with the money. Makes me cringe - Mata cost £23.5M and Downing cost £20M. Mata has 13 goals and 18 assists and Downing has 2 goals and 0 assistsOriginally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostFSG clearly are not pleased with the huge amount of money wasted on mediocrity and so Comolli was shipped out. Nobody has any idea of what kind of money is available, it's all speculation right now.Originally posted by saj View PostSupposedly big money is not available and even if it is, I wouldn't trust him with the money. And yes Downing has been an abomination of a signing.

Mata also wanted Champions League football, something he wasn't going to get here.Originally posted by saj View PostSupposedly big money is not available and even if it is, I wouldn't trust him with the money. Well the owners have said on more than one occasion said that the money available to spend will not be more than money earnt and that is I think around £30M which would have been enough had we not pissed away so much money last seasonOriginally posted by ~LFCHistory~ View PostNobody has any idea of what kind of money is available, it's all speculation right now.

I think we had a chance of getting him...Mata becomes Andre Villas-Boas' fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Oriol Romeu, Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois.
Trophies
On his early dealings with his new boss, Mata added: "He said he wanted Chelsea this season to play more attacking football, and that I would be a big part of that.
"Villas-Boas is someone who won almost everything last year and we are both here with the idea of winning lots this season.
"The plan is that I can play on either flank or even in the middle playing in between the lines of midfield and attack. I like to keep the ball and use it well, I am an attacking player and above all I like to set up goals and score them also.
"Valencia was a big club anyway but I have left to join a bigger club and it is all about the opportunity to win trophies and I have that here."
Juan Mata Quotes of the week
"I want to adapt as quickly as possible to my new surroundings, my colleagues and this league, and I would love to win a trophy in my first season. If it can be the Premier League then great."
Mata joins countrymen Romeu and Fernando Torres in West London and is pleased to have familiar faces around him.
He said: "Fernando got me excited about the thought of coming here.
"He said it would be good for me here and that me and him together could be good. I also talked to my family and friends about it as well."My kebab comes with chilli sauce

Possibly. But I highly doubt he'd turn down a team in the Champions League for one that wasn't.Originally posted by saj View PostHe was convinced by the manager - I don't think the pull of playing Champions League football was the deciding football at all as I remember reading various articles when he signed for Chelsea and he never mentioned that once. IIRC, Spurs were in for him at around the same time and he chose Chelsea.
