The clubs up and down the leagues would lose out on millions in revenue if they had to play at the same time as the cup final.

The cup final TV audience would also be affected, so less sponsorship revenue for the TV companies.

It just wouldn't work.

I can see that it makes sense but the FA cocked it all up pissing about with the season because of the Euros (I guess UEFA moving the CL doesn't help either). But the FA Cup finals should be the weekend after the PL season finishes.

I think we have got to go for it and bring the game to Chelsea, unfortunately I think gerrard needs to play deeper because of the lack of experience we have in that position ATM due to injuries. If we let Chelsea have time on the ball they will destroy us, they're in good form at the moment and have a very fluid attack.

Can't see maxi starting though, think downing/kuyt wil get the nod. Just to chuck a proverbial spanner in the works though what are your views on doing something a little unexpected and playing Johnson at right mid with Kelly at right back. I'm well aware the cup final is not a time to be experimenting but he has played there before and it may take Chelsea by surprise and give us a bit more thrust in the final third in and around the box
