It's a PR stunt aimed at introducing LFC to the American public and advertising the club to potential investors/sponsors.

I beleieve it was commissioned by LFC, so it was never going to do anything to embarras the club.

That said, reading the body language of some of the players, they didn't like the camera following them around did they. Also, when they met the red socks reminded me of the sort of situation when step parents introduce their kids to each other and expect them to play nicely.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Charlie Adam does not like Cricket. He hates it.

Adam is definitely from the Ian Cotton school of communication.

Henry and Werner talking about Dalglish at the beginning was blatant bull****. In fact, I'd call them outright liars. But hey ho, no debt on the club so it's all good.

Best bits were about Rodgers, the teamtalk and the chat to Flanagan.
Cannot blame Clive Owen but I do agree that the material he is provided with is bang on average.

Its all window decoration for people to see Liverpool as a happy, vibrant investment for sponsors and new fans/customers. I watched it this morning with Dot and her Sister. They both loved it, they lapped up the Gerrard/Rodgers at home stuff (Made them seem real apparently)
So I guess in that respect it hit its target audience.
So it's target audience is your wife and her sister?

My wife had no interest and she too found it banal. Absolutely no substance to it at all.
            Oh I don't know.

No, the target audience is people who aren't interested in the brand/club at the moment, them and fans of the club.

This programme has got to be about making money by raising the profile, which I think it will do.

My mrs watched it to see their houses too Alex. She was frowning in disapproval at the Gerrards nouveau riche, gaudy tastelessness.

She wants to go round and knock on Lucas though, hang out, play a bit of Monopoly, indulge Luis's flagrant cheating. They're only up the road

Did anyone else find it hilarious that they said they hung out with each other because it helps them keep there roots.....cut to a shot of them playing monopoly

Also, what the **** is up with their cup/thermos/straw contraptions.

Haha I was wondering that as well. Must be some kind of tea I suppose.

London based board game Monopoly, yeah, haha.

Love how Lucas picked up spanish to fit in with the others, he's the best.

If I hanged with any group of LFC players it would be the South Americans, for sure.

It's because of their wives, isn't it?

The documentary is made for North American population as we have almost no market penetration there and JWH felt that we need to raise our profile there, which seems natural continuation of The North American Tour.

The whole design is very similar to NFL documentary program where fans can watch one particular team (Miami Dolphins this year) from the start of the training camp to the final cuts just before the season begins.

NFL used this concept for years and it has been very successful for them and I can see why our American owners may be very drawn to the same idea.

It will work for what it is intended for but it will come across as very cheesy for the fans who are already very familiar with the club and/or football in general.

It did feel a bit like one of the 24:7 documentaries you see in the build up to a big fight.
