I'm 100% against that. I think we will do that and ruin him

I've no objections to bringing him on late in the game for the odd cameo

I'd rather be patient and produce a lad capable of producing the goods than throw him in now and watch him sink which imo he will do because of his lack of physique
I don't know. Maybe he shouldn't be starting, but I think he could do with more than a few mins here and there. I know there are statistics out there that show players who are introduced too early tend to drop away later in their career and suffer from greater injuries, but at the same time the lack of competitive football can't be doing him much good either.

He wants to play, so we have to balance that against being patient with him, or we could well lose him - and that would be a great shame, because he does seem to be a real talent.

    It's a tricky situation.

To me a player reaches a point where he needs to play at a better level

Generally those players are physically developed before they reach that point

Thats my worry with Sterling hes chronically underdeveloped physically

That's true, but he might never develop much beyond his current build, and yet he still seems a better option to what we're playing at the moment. It the whole 'if they're good enough they're old enough' thing isn't it. If he's good enough, then he's big enough. Messi would still be waiting for his debut if Barca were waiting for him to get a growth spurt. Obviously Raheem is no Messi, but there are examples of good players in the Premiership who are around the same size.

I think it's a pretty tricky situation to be honest, as he's clearly desperate to play (which, of course, is a good thing!). I'd like to see him given some games next season or I think we'll end up losing him.

think we are on the same page here, mate...

i know sterling is a wee man boy but is he any less small than shaun wright-phillips. some of these dwarfs are quite nippy little fellas, in a non racist way, obviously. if he adds something new and improves the team prospects then i would play him. maybe start giving him 20-30 mins and see how he progresses from there. impact sub, then lets see if he can earn a starting place.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Hes only 16 or 17 I think its safe to say he has further physical development

They will work on him physically like they did with Owen just before he burst on the scene

You see the Messi comparison doesnt stack up because it wasnt and isnt about height. Its about strength. Messi has always had that even when he burst on the scene

Sterling doesnt imo, he has a massive way to go before he achieves this
