If people think we're a top team they need to think again. Gillet & Hicks did a sound job of tearing a title challenging team apart. That was the last time we were a top side.

The rot that has set in since then is incredible. To lose the likes of Arbeloa, Alonso, Mascherano, Riera and Torres in such a short space of time was difficult. Throw in a down turn in form of Reina, Carragher, Aurelio, Kuyt and Gerrard and that's a massive hammer blow.

Is it any wonder we're not even as good as O'Neils Villa?

Hopefully we can add to this list of starting XI players: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Gerrard & Suarez. And that's with a hope that Gerrard & Agger stay fit and Reina finds form.

The rest of the squad are at present players I would rate as average or poor. Nowhere near good enough due to a number of poor transfer windows for differing reasons.

Anyway, we shouldn't voice our grievances in public, it's bad publicity for the club.

We finished nearer relegation in terms of points than we did to a Champions League spot (15 points as opposed to 17).

We were 37 points behind what I consider to be the weakest Man United squad in years. We finished 13 points behind Newcastle FFS!

I'm pretty sure this league season broke numerous records, for all the wrong reasons.

After time to think it over I think it's unforgivable given what is I think a decent squad we've got (we should have got considerably more than 52 points).

The season is quite ambivalent to me.

Positive:

* We have moved forward as club since the position we were in 18 months ago, 1 day from administration, coming from a poor season in the league made worse by Hodgson and general lack of investment, to a somewhat stabalized club with a better squad.
* We play better football than we have in a long time, control most matches and create enough chances.
* The press leaks and bickering around the club have mostly stopped. As well as the constant battles in the press.
* Our owners seems resolute.
* We have a number of talents in the club/squad.
* Cup win and another cup final - been far to long since we won anything!
* Most importantly: we have something to build upon, unlike 18 months ago.

Negative:

* Our league form have been **** this season.
* We have a consistently poor squad at finishing chances (under 10% ffs)
* Midfield is not strong enough overall.
* We have to many mentally weak players that needs to be carried.
* The racism thing
* Lucas being injured.
* The impatience surrounding the club right now.

You dont actually get a ton of money for the CL qualification

You get it for playing in the subsequent tournament next season

The League & FA Cup might only get you a small amount of prize money but it does give you access to the Europa Cup also

Yes the amounts that can be earned in the Europa Cup are small by comparison to the CL but you should maybe have included them to give a little validation to your point

Whichever way you look at it, CL qualification is crucial. Anything else is semantics. You get more money being in the Group stages of the CL than you get winning the Europa League. Nuff said.

All i can say is thank **** this season is over but i am not looking forward to next season one bit.
