Yeah, that's what I thought he was getting it. But that doesn't really add up does it? Afterall, I'm sure that if Guardiola were to be available then he'd be the number 1 choice for all concerned - so it's not just pr.Originally posted by Lecter View PostIn the sense that they make you believe they are going for top quality candidates but in reality they arent at all
I dont believe that personally but I guess thats what Nigel is suggesting
And if it was just a pr excercise then it's not going to do the American owners any favours with the fans by giving us false hope that we're going to land a top class manager then giving someone like Lambert the job (no disrespect, but I think he's the weakest candidate that's been linked).K ris90210

Its a worry for me that he has no plan B so to speak. Its his way or lose playing his way.. I also don't think we've played badly at times this season, maybe Henderson, Shelvey and even Adam might benefit from his style of play.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostMartinez clearly has loads of potential. He's a student of the game, innovative, plays attacking football. It *could* work. I think we've all been badly burned by the whole Hodgson experience.
With the type of football Martinez likes, you'd have to hope that he'd have far more success transmitting his ideas to quality players as opposed to some of the dross he has at Wigan.
I have huge doubts, but if he was to get the position, a part of me would be quite excited to see how he would do. Especially if we brought in an ambitious, big draw director of football.
From the remaining 'potential' candidates, as things stand, I'd be pretty happy to see it go to:
Benitez (stand out candidate for me)
Van Gaal
Martinez
Villas Boas
Capello
I'm pretty much prepared for him to be the one now.Vive la France

Do me a favor ... in your head perhaps ha !!Originally posted by Lecter View PostEducate me?
I've forgotten more about football than you will ever know
Over the past few weeks all I've heard is results dont lie (in regards to Kenny)
That should equally apply to Martinez, his results are worse than the man he took over at Wigan
Thats a fact, not opinion

Have the owners mentioned any of these names though or is it just the papers and people on twitter?Originally posted by kris90210 View PostYeah, that's what I thought he was getting it. Originally posted by NigelLG View PostThe owners are getting the backlash of sacking Kenny and rightly so. You don't treat Kenny Dalglish like that.
If they turn this around then they'll be hailed. Let's wait and see.
But until then I'm going to kick up a fuss and throw my toys out the pram, they upset me now its up to them to make things right

. It would obviously be a gamble. I do see things I like about him though.

Papers and people on twitter. But then if all the papers are unanimous then there's normally no smoke without fire. We were linked with Martinez and Rodgers, and both have proved to be genuine.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostHave the owners mentioned any of these names though or is it just the papers and people on twitter?K ris90210

He clearly has his qualities but as you say its a gamble and we should minimize the gamble by hiring the best available man for the job. There must be better out there.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostThat's true

Why doesn't it add up? Guardiola has said that he's going to take a sabbatical and Capello is 62, totally against their policy of recruiting young managers. Could well be a PR exercise.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostYeah, that's what I thought he was getting it. But that doesn't really add up does it? I don't think they're not winners for the record. I just think that they don't really know what they're doing and are being badly advised. Are we winning?

The Pep link makes no sense to me.. If Barcelona cannot convince him to stay what chance do we have? He said he needs a rest not a new challenge if I'm right in saying that. People putting 1+1 together and coming up with 5 as usual.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostPapers and people on twitter.
