Agree with this but theres so many factors about playing the long gameOriginally posted by little dave hedgehog View Postthey'll probably sell the club in 20 years or something, unless they hit a wall, and that's when the payout happens. in the meantime, there's a club to run, and i don't think they would have bought the club unless they were looking at 20 years of running it, and thinking it would be an enjoyable thing to do, which means building a winning team. if they didn't think they could make us a success, they wouldn't be wasting their time with us. they don't play the short game. the idea is the same at boston, but they've been there over a decade now without a whisper of them leaving, through good times and bad.
Making the right appointments in the right positions
Building the stadium etc....
My general perception with FSG is that they have done well on the Commercial side
The stadium hasnt gone anywhere yet but I am not prepared to criticise them over that just yet
Regarding their appointments of key personnel - the jury is well and truely outBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

At the start of the season I thought that AVB was was never going to be a success at chelsea because the players just didnt suit his high pressure tactics. He inherited an old team which isnt capable of playing football at high intensity for 90 mins. Lampard, terry, drogba, malouda, cole just cant run around like 23 year olds.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostSo basically his tactics are not what's best for the club? If so that's a worry, AVB tried to force his tactics down Chelsea's throats and it got him nowhere.
He never stood a chance but at liverpool it would be different. The average age of the first team excluding gerrard and carragher would be closer to 25 than the 30 something that he had at chelsea.
Could he make it work at liverpool - quite possibly. Would he have the respect of the senior pros at liverpool - probably not.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I've said numerous times, if hes appointed I'll support him. I like him as a person and I like his general philosophyOriginally posted by Chrono View PostLecter, you don't like the idea of Martinez I take it? What's to say he isn't capable of being a brilliant manager, I know he and Rafa used to spend time together comparing training, etc. Not all managers start off producing amazing results at big clubs.
But for me hes grossly underqualified to manage LFC
Regarding your last point - maybe we should have kept Kenny thenBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

i agree, but the amount of abuse they're receiving is way over the top. we'll find out how it's all going to pan out, but it's way, way too early to be turning on them.Originally posted by Lecter View PostAgree with this but theres so many factors about playing the long game

i'll turn on them myself if they ruin the club or if i feel their hearts aren't in it, but there's quite a ways to go before we get there.dave of mutilation

Fair enough and regarding Kenny, we are where we are now so it's no longer an option.Originally posted by Lecter View PostI've said numerous times, if hes appointed I'll support him. I like him as a person and I like his general philosophy

Who's abusing them in here? Certainly not me. There's a difference between being dubitative and abusive.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Posti agree, but the amount of abuse they're receiving is way over the top. we'll find out how it's all going to pan out, but it's way, way too early to be turning on them.

However I dont think they are in any way beyond criticism and for me they are making mistakesBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Bollocks.Originally posted by gmac74 View PostBarca, Madrid, Utd, Spurs, Bilbao, Arsenal have shown that with the right players and attacking, attractive football success is achievable. You will never get that with Benitez. Grinding out results in a second coming that is never as successful as the first.

It's possible but I don't think I am.. I'd love to hear a reason why someone believes Rafa isn't the best man for the job. Well I get Pep, Mourinho, Klopp but they're just not going to happen.Originally posted by S-RED View Postthis ten fold - ffs why cannot everyone see he is the man for the job or are we all deluded??
All I read is, don't go back to the past.. He argues with owners (rightly) I have doubts about him.. He'd split the fans.
But none of those are valid reasons to why he isn't the best that we can do? The best candidate for the job.. I'd very much like to hear someone who doesn't want him back to tell me how come?
This is probably coming across wrong but I am genuinely interested into what the reasons are, I'm open minded.Vive la France

1. The game is about results. Look at Mourinho
2. We played some good stuff under Rafa
