AVB is the best young manager out there. So if that's the way we're going, he should be top of the list.

Ideally, I'd prefer Rafa. Klopp looks set in stone at Dortmond, though he echoes a bit of Rafa in him, whilst Guardiola leaving has come at the wrong time for us. A year on, I think he may have considered us.
    Forwards.......

You get one like the rest of us. What makes you so special?

My thoughts on the potential candidates:

        Benitez
He's proven he can build a successful side on a modest budget, which is the biggest thing really. Absolutely loves the club. He's clearly not everyone's choice, but there isn't a single candidate that will please everyone. For me, he's who I would feel happiest with.

        Martinez
Martinez would be an interesting one. Worked absolute wonders with Swansea, and they're still reaping the benefits of the work he sowed there. Plays attacking, pass and move football. It would obviously be a huge gamble though, at a time when I don't think we can really afford to take a huge gamble. Hmm.

        Klopp
Has worked absolute wonders with Dortmund. Plays the style of football we all dream of. But how would he adapt to the premiership? If we were to take a gamble on a young, up and coming manager, this is guy I'd go for.

        Bielsa
It seems everyone in football has nothing but praise for this guy - considered at the forefront of modern coaching, and plays superb attacking football. His Bilbao side schooled Utd home and away in the Champions League, and his Chile side played awesome attacking football. Question marks over his English, and how he'd cope in such a foreign environment but I'd love to see how he'd do with us. Could be awesome.

        Van Gaal
Awesome CV. Plays superb attacking football. Used to working under a director of football. Vastly experienced. I think he would be an interesting appointment, and would no doubt ruffle a few feathers. I've read that it takes a while for sides to adapt to his tactics, but he has proven himself time and time again.

        Capello
I realise that he's not everyones cup of tea, but the bloke is one of the best managers in the world. You only have to look at his cv to realise this. His experience with England has tarnished his reputation somewhat, but he win percentage is insane. He would be a big draw for incoming players, I'm sure. And I think he could really deliver success - with probably more certainty than any of the other candidates. Of course, there's a downside in that his style of football isn't necessarily the best to watch. As things stand, I think the priority has to be to get back into the top 4, before we worry about the style of football. I'd be excited if we were to bring him in.

        Villas Boas
A year or so ago, he would be pretty much everyones dream appointment. His record with Academica and Porto is pretty incredible, but obviously things didn't work out at all well for him at Chelsea. Would be a huge gamble for us to go for a manager who has been unsuccessful so recently in my opinion. On top of that, he did come across as a bit of cunt while he was there as well. I can see the positives, but the Chelsea failure would definitely be at the back of my mind.

        Other potential candidates
        Hiddink - Can't see it.
Guardiola - would obviously be awesome, but again, can't see him coming
Loew - could possibly be available after the Euros, and is a hugely promising manager. Can we afford to wait that long though? I doubt he'd come as well - can see him replacing Mourinho at Madrid at some point in the future.

            So I want Rafa.

Forgetting him, Klopp - but I don't think he's possible.

I haven't considered Guardiola cos he's definitely having a year out.

So it'd be AVB for me. Even though he seemed a bit of a cunt at Chelsea. He'd be our cunt.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Sentimental choice would be Rafa. Serious misgivings though. Alonso for Gareth ****ing Barry?

No real problems if AVB were to get it.

Ooh yeah, I wouldn't mind having an Uncle Merv at her sat on our bench.
