That said I remain sceptical that anyone has much of an inside track on this. Although it is reasonable to assume that Ballague has talked to Rafa I suppose. I don't think FSG will go for Rafa but equally I think Rafa sometimes uses Ballague rather than giving him the straight story.
Of course and it's a legitimate concern given then structure they're looking to implement. However, its been a couple of years since Benitez was at the club, how are they to know his philosophies and attitude haven't changed in that period? I just think it's negligent to rule him out without even having spoken to him.

FSG might have to contact Rafa if we get knocked back by any more

I was starting to warm to the idea of De Boer too Ajax football, and tapping into Ajax's talent pool would have been interesting.

Bloody hell, De Boer. Who next! AVB probably isn't even nailed on to want it either. Sad times when ANY manager doesn't fancy managing LFC, they should all be champing at the bit ffs.

Rafa carries the same sort of following with the fan base as Kenny does, this scares the owners plus he has stated in the past that he requires full control of all footballing matters. This seems contradictory to how the Americans see the role of Manager.

They maybe are looking for new blood, new ideas with a remit of working to their rules and boundaries.

To be fair he may have wanted full control before as the alternative was clowns like Purslow.

Andre Villas Boas vs Roberto Martinez.

I'd like to think people within Liverpool circles put out feelers to see who would be interested when Kenny was still in charge. I know some people don't like that idea, but it's standard practice in football and a way of ensuring you've got people lined up for sure.

Otherwise, we're going to look like Wolves and a bit silly.

So this is the reality at Liverpool F.C. in current times, Rogers/Klopp/De Boer!

Some people don't want AVB but in all fairness.. he may not even want the bleeding job the way things are going!

This so called list is whittling down pretty quickly and we are running out of decent options. For me still AVB/Rikjaard/Deschamps.

Managers and players used to jump at the chance to go to LFC, just shows have deep seeded this rot has got. If we have a problem finding a good manager i can only imagine how hard it's going to be to find good players in the summer.

What makes you put AVB in a different category to Klopp and De Boer?

Sounds right to me. Management by a committee of yesmen.

I'm sure Deschamps and Rikjaard have already said no
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Would be nice if he was following all this, and said to his advsors, "right! i'll show em all in football, managers turning a club like LFC down...and the media joking about it!....Call Liverpool! Now!.... I'M IN!"
