Let's face it, if we don't appoint Rafa, the new manager will forever be referred to as 'not Rafa'. We appoint Rafa and things don't go as well second time round and we'll blast FSG for referring to the past and setting us back 'x' amount of years.

If FSG get the structure right and we see that we are moving in the right direction under a new manager, Rafa will remain a fond memory.

that board member is no longer at LFC, but i wouldn't be surprised if moyes was in the mix somewhere
I also heard something really similar, but dismissed it as conjecture. Interesting someone else heard the same

The more i think about Moyes being manager the more it makes sense. He would make us into world-beaters imo.

Not a chance in hell imo. Just do not believe he'd do that to Everton.

So it's not going to be Mourinho then...

                  Mourinho pens new Real deal
                  Jose agrees Madrid extension

Spanish champions Real Madrid have confirmed that coach Jose Mourinho has penned a new four-year deal with the club.

The Portuguese tactician has long been linked with a return to English football, with former club Chelsea one of those strongly linked.

Mourinho has now dismissed any suggestions that he could depart the Santiago Bernabeu this summer by signing a two-year extension to his current deal which had two years remaining.

A statement on the Madrid website read: "Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho have reached an agreement to extend the coach's contract with the club until June 30, 2016."

The 49-year-old, who moved to Madrid in May 2010, led them to the Copa del Rey crown in his first season in charge and in the campaign just completed he guided the club to their first Primera Division title since 2008.

Madrid's title success, which ended Barcelona's three-year reign as Spanish champions, saw Mourinho become the first coach to win the league in Spain, England (Chelsea) and Italy (Inter Milan).

Mourinho is also one of only three coaches to have won the Champions League with separate teams having led Porto to the crown in 2004 and Inter in 2010.

He has also won numerous other trophies during a hugely successful coaching career that began with Benfica in 2000.

Didn't ever really think he was a possibility but a guy could hope. Despised him at the Chavs but the guy is a winner...

The whole evolving thread title thing is excellent - determines whether I bother having much of a look or just a skim.

I'd actually prefer Redknapp to Martinez.
