    Mostar,

What are your thoughts on the recruitment of Jen Chang and the potential appointment of Roberto Martinez as manager? A good summer in your eyes?

If the man feels he needs a long rest I'd rather he had one.

Sign him up on a pre contract for next year though

Are ESPN claiming that Capello has already held prelimanary talks with FSG?

            On the contrary:

No contact with Capello or Deschamps
            May 22, 2012

            By ESPN staff

Liverpool have had no contact with either Fabio Capello or Didier Deschamps, according to ESPN sources on Tuesday lunchtime.

Speculation had been growing that Capello was wanted by Fenway Sports Group as the successor to Dalglish, with contacts close to the former England coach claiming he had been approached.

However, ESPN has been told that there has been no official contact with Capello and he has never been under consideration for the job as FSG look to appoint a manager with an attacking football philosophy. Capello's image has been tarnished by his time with England, when his team looked ponderous and ineffective.

There has also been no approach for Marseille boss Didier Deschamps.

Roberto Martinez has been given permission to speak to Liverpool by his club Wigan, while Brendan Rodgers of Swansea City turned down the chance to meet with Anfield representatives. Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp and Ajax manager Frank de Boer have been appraoched but will stay with their current clubs.

Andre Villas-Boas has not held meetings with Liverpool but his agent has made contact with the club.

FSG is yet to meet any prospective new manager, with managing director Ian Ayre conducting the initial stages of the recruitment process.

It was reported that an agent representing Liverpool did approach Capello before the Champions League final to enquire as to his interest in the position. However, ESPN has been informed that this was not the case.

Meanwhile, Liverpool fan group Spirit of Shankly, which led the protests against former owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, has written to FSG to express its concern over the way the club is being run.

"It may be that yourselves and the board of Liverpool Football Club have a vision you are working towards," SOS's letter read. "It may be that you have implemented a strategy to deliver that vision and decisions are being made to work towards this.

"However, from the outside, where supporters find themselves once again, it looks like a football club in disarray. Confusion and chaos seems to reign and no one is coming out of this with much credit, particularly the football club's image and brand.

"We need clear and pro-active communication, a confident message about the club's plans that breeds confidence amongst supporters that we are moving in the right direction. Instead, we have silence and a lack of information or understanding on decisions being made.

"As supporters we have seen all too clearly what a lack of communication from absentee owners leads to. Ultimately supporters remain in the dark once again about the plans for this football club moving forward.

"We find ourselves experiencing deja vu, where boardroom decisions lead to more questions than they answer. We ask that you speak with supporters - engage with a true representative cross section of supporters and work with supporters to provide solutions to our current problems."

Not sure but it was banded around that he's not interested in Chelsea, suppose after them winning FA and CL the only way is down for them next season and the manager is already dead in the water.

Just love how a man with absolutely no football knowledge except for what he's learned in a few years here is screening managerial choices for a group of owners who know even less. I hope all the info out is complete BS and a DoF is brought in before any managerial choice is made.

Agree about Redknapp but I wouldn't be against Capello given the people we've been linked with, lets be honest he's miles ahead of Rodgers.

I found the Rodgers one really strange, I rate Lambert head and shoulders above him. (exaggeration) But I think he's a better manager.

Rodgers, Lambert, Martinez none of them are good enough to be considered for the Liverpool job imo

Yeah I agree but I rate both Martinez and Lambert ahead of Rodgers personally.. Just found it strange we've approached Rodgers and as far as we know, not Lambert.

I'd rather have kept Kenny than appoint Capello. We haven't got defensive troubles so I don't see the need for the 'make us hard to beat' candidates to be of interest.

Does anyone think the new manager could slip under the radar and we could get someone like Michael Laudrup, who has been mentioned but barely.

I don't understand what the problem with Capello is. Aside from his poor judgement in deciding to take the England job, there is no one even approaching his credentials. I'd feel certain of a high placed league finish in year 1 if we appointed him and probably a title tilt in year 2.
It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

I know this is clearly wishful thinking but I think we might end up with someone we'll all be relatively pleased with.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.
