They keep the ball very well and dominate you in the final third. Xavi iniesta and busquets are all very good at continuous switching of the attack angle and they keep the ball moving until they find messi in space between the defence and midfield.
Their job is to then get that ball to messi in the right place and the rest is up to him. He is the genius that makes the system and its not easily replicated because theres only one messi.
Real madrid showed that when messi doesnt perform barca dont look threatening. their whole philosophy is about getting the ball to messi in the final third or around the 20-22 yardline from which he is deadly.
