So the model is basically get Ex-players to run the show? Why don't you outline a model for us, and list the ex-players you'd have in the key positions....

You have used that "ex-players" like it is something dirty ... Personally, I wouldn't mind the likes of Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen, Phil Thompson, Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler or Sami Hyypia being involved into the everyday running of the club's footballing department ... We don't have to use the exact same model as Bayern Munich, but the roles would be at the Board level, the Tecnical Director/DoF level, and the managerial/coaching level ...

Pat Murphy on BBC Radio 5Live reporting that Rodgers will be named as the manager.

He's also saying that there will be no DOF appointed and that Martinez was never really an option.

Those last two comments are interesting.

bbc just interrupted 5 live to say they understand it's Rogers, clubs are talking now.

Said as he understands it Rogers was always the No1 choice, regardless of what specualtion there has been, so sounds like he's been briefed by LFC

I'm at the stage of not giving a **** who it is - I just wish they'd appoint someone. Which shows how the interent has actually driven me mad as I'd apparently rather keep coming on here than leave it for a few days. I'm now actually acting contrary to what I want and wanting what I know to be bad for the club rather than just leaving this ****in thread alone. I need to be sent to a temporary form of internet Dignitas.

I too, blame the t'interweb. I sift through 10/15/20 pages to get back up to speed to ensure I haven't missed any useful snippets - which I haven't (obv) - but I do it anyway, just in case. If it's not Martinez or Rodgers and we appoint someone from leftfield, I do think my head will explode.

He's technically right on the DOF as we were never going to appoint a direct replacement for Comolli!

All the while, John Henry *actually* went for mocha choca frappuccino's with Rodgers down Swansea Pier. Miami? Pfft!

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to be confirmed as the new Liverpool boss in the next 48 hours.
The clubs are understood to be discussing compensation for the 39-year-old, with Swansea likely to recieve a compensation payment of between £4m and £5m.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez had been in contention after meeting with owner John W Henry in Miami last week.
But attention has since switched back to Rodgers.

Some news on the management situation to bring this thread back on topic! If there is no DoF does that mean the new manager will have complete control or are there likely to be other people appointed in alternative roles to oversee the management of the club?

Being an ex-player of LFC doesn't automatically endow somebody with the necessary skills/judgement to fulfill those roles. You're completely loopy.

The club members have the priority when obtaining season tickets and match tickets ... Basically, apart from a very small fraction, the majority of the tickets are always going to the club members ... Of course, not always to the same members ... For example, Barca have a number of members that is almost double than the capacity of the Camp Nou ... And you are not buying voting influence ... You are supporting the club financially, and you get the chance to elect the Board every 4 years ...

You are supporting the Club financially if you buy merchandise or buy a match-ticket, why pay again for a vote?
