I'd be happy with AVB, Rijkaard, Capello or Klopp, but it has to be Rafa, doesn't it? I hope more than anything this is the case. Rafa coming back will put everything to rest, as long as he's not here there'll always be unfinished business and always a question of him returning at some point. Now seems a better time than ever and I believe with these owners he could make something very special.

@trevski_y: AVB keen on #LFC but some uncertainty over whether he would be allowed to manage an English club due to clause in Chelsea severance

Have an opinion that's 51% mainstream and you get shot down for being in Murdoch's pocket
I think a big reason for that is because Rafa's detractors almost always cite the same, identical misrepresentations of him. Be it about zonal marking, his signings, his spending, rotation, tactics, or of course, the famous 'rant'.

Its always the same factually incorrect, unbalanced, unfounded rubbish every time.
It also happens to be the same skewed or outright wrong information that many of the rags and Sky used to delight in when talking about Benítez.

              Coincidence?

Even if the clause is there it doesnt mean it is enforcable and I would think there can only be a minimal period that would prevent him from working for another club.

Martinez or Benitez are not in the frame.

That's bull****. How long do they have to stay in the Premiership to be classed as a Premiership side? They are indubitably a small club relative to ours, but their hardcore fans are just as passionate as ours. Martinez is a good manager, he's a smart bloke and he knows how to get the best out of his players. I think it's probably natural to be cautious about a manager who isn't the biggest name out there, but we shouldn't dismiss Martinez just because he hasn't had the opportunity to manage a club with our expectations yet. I am very confident that he would rise to the challenge. Every possible manager out there (with the exception of Rafa in my opinion) would be a gamble. I think Martinez is worth taking a chance on.

Most online bookies now seem to have suspended betting on the next LFC manager.

Thought about this earlier. I would imagine we'd have to pay some sort of compo to Chelsea or AVB will have a clause as part of his severance that will involve a large sum of money being parted somewhere.

This is another reason why Rafa makes so much sense ffs!!

I thought RDM had done well without paying too much attention to CFC. Then I saw the stats on SSN and I think he'd won something like twelve from fifteen?! But like you say, I didn't really have much of an opinion so just took it on face value. Abramovich must just love pissing money away for no good reason.

Maybe I was being a bit disrespectful there. What I meant by Championship was that there are small margins there, and a very small nucleus of rabid Wigan fans to keep happy. Its a rugby league town that doesn't have the same draw to football.

So a payoff to the chavs and several golden handshakes = no transfer budget..?

So if it isn't Rafa or Martinez then it's got to be AVB?

Looks like it could actually happen.

Probably a good move for him in fairness. Not sure it's a good move for LFC though.
