I think it's the fact that the majority of us wouldn't even have him on a shortlist, much like Hodgson. It's the scale of ambition at the moment which is quite frightening. Nothing against the man.

Benitez, Villas Boas and Van Gaal are three stand-out targets who would come to us and are available for nothing.

I'm clinging onto hope that the others shortlisted are better, but I'm not betting it comes into fruition.

They'd better have an outstanding DOF to compensate for this. It's an opportunity to make a real statement of our rebuilding attempts to become the best in England and Europe (well, that's the aims of Werner). So far, not looking great.

fair enough, but we know **** all. Hopefully FSG have someone who knows more than us. Hopefully.

Bruce finished higher in the league with Wigan than Martinez and he hasn't improved them, so why on earth are we interviewing him for one of the biggest positions in the game? He shouldn't even be considered.
