y issue with Martinez is that he is proven but not at what we want him for. He has a track record at keeping clubs up, but no experience of competing at the other end of the table. His default has had to be to set his team up not to lose, exactly the same as Bodge.
    Never knowingly optimistic

Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

Anyone who considers Martinez or Rogers needs to look at the Owen Coyle example, this time last year looking at these 2 he would definately have been on the list.......

I wonder if those people who are so against the idea of Martinez becoming our next manager have actually seen Wigan play during the last two or three seasons?

I suspect there will be a lot of disappointed people on here soon because the reality is that Guardiola is not going to become our manager any time soon. Martinez wouldn't be my first choice (that would be Rafa), but I'd be happy enough with his appointment. I've enjoyed watching Wigan at the JJB/DW the last few years, they play some excellent football despite their lack of superstar players. I'm bored of defending Martinez now, guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

But if you're picking from Martinez, Rodgers or Rafa, then its perfectly understandable why most would consider Rafa to be the standout choice.
            Exactly.

Yep, and I think it was Chris who rightly said if the job was available in March, Martinez would be absolutely nowhere near it.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I still think that's a little harsh. As I have said before, I rated him before that, and still do. Just don't think he is right for Liverpool atm moment.

He has kept them up 3 years in a row, every year selling his best player and not replacing them.

To me AVB & Rafa are realistic possibilities, I think you'd get either of them

Yes I have and 10 weeks ago he would have been nailed on for relegation and probably at the moment is pretty close to being bookies favourites to be relegated next season (?). As has been pointed out before they finished 11th before he took over and he has gradually took them lower and lower. We dont want or need a manager whos best achievement is winning a handful of games at the end of the season to keep his team up........as has been said before no matter what football he plays he is nowhere near the standard required by LFC.

                        This is also true

I like him as a person, I even like how he tries to play football but hes a world away from being qualified enough to manage LFC at this moment in time

                        Same for Rodgers & Lambert

Gary Mac said yesterday, if Liverpool want to attract decent players, that don't come simply for the motivation of cash...you need a big manager with a track record.

Defiantly, ive just found a Link of the Wigan transfers in the Prem. Before he got there they were a buying club, since he took over, they have a been a selling club no doubt.

Dont know how accurate the figures are though.

                                Can't argue with that!

Saying that, out of the three less favourable managers we've been linked with, I'd rather Martinez over Rodgers or Lambert.
